Former Michigan WR Toney Clemons has transferred to Colorado. Dude was average at best as a football player. Great kid but didn't have hands, was slowedthan advertised and couldn't really run a route. He is still young so I think he can get a ton better but has a ways to go. Hope he can do it though. Jut aterrible fit for our offense.

Taking a short timeout from the toughest offseason in the history of Florida football, strength and conditioning coordinator Mickey Marotti spent about 20 minutes talking to a handful of beat writers Wednesday and discussed a number of subjects.

Here are some of the highlights:

* Marotti said the attitude has been good and that the leadership of Tim Tebow, Brandon Spikes and some other seniors has made a huge difference. Marotti said the Gators are working out five times a week, lifting weights four days and running three days. He said the running has been linear speed training.

"(The leadership of Tebow and Spikes) is second to none," Marotti said. "It's every strength coach's dream at this level to have guys like that. I told one of my assistants the other day, this is the way it's supposed to be. They're coaching each other up.

"They know what they have to do. That's kind of been the theme so far. They don't have to have the fake juice from me jumping up and down and hollering. They're self-motivated. I guarantee you every team in the country is doing something (during the offseason) for the University of Florida."

Marotti said he and his staff have changed up the workout regimen to keep the players fresh and give them a chance to have what he described as "fun."

"I don't know if that makes sense," Marotti said. "We just do our best to keep them fresh."

As far as making the workouts the hardest ever, Marotti said, "It's all about accountability, where you have your foot on the line, specific weights, being on time. You really grind that stuff now. Plus the physical part. I don't know how much more physically challenging it's going to be, but it's going to be challenging.

"You know what these players can do on the field. Last year, it was easy, they had a chip on their shoulder. This year is different. That's what I've been impressed with so far, the fact they know what they have to do."

* One of the more interesting things Marotti talked about was the breakfast/lunch club. This is for players who need to gain weight. They have to eat at the training table every day and their meals are closely monitored. One player who seems to be resisting is 175-pound tailback Chris Rainey.

"He doesn't like food," Marotti said. "It's hard to gain weight when you don't like food. He's eating because he has to. He doesn't eat because he likes food. He's just starting to drink the (nutritional) shakes (that contain 365 calories). He didn't like the shakes. How are you going to gain weight if you don't take in calories? I always tell him, 'I watch football every Sunday and I don't see anyone who looks like you playing at the next level. If that's your goal, maybe you've got to change.' "

Marotti said defensive end Jermaine Cunningham is a guy who is no longer in the breakfast club. He was 205 when he arrived at UF four years ago. Now, he's up to 255. Some other players in the breakfast club this summer are defensive end William Green, outside linebacker Brandon Hicks, offensive tackle Matt Patchan and redshirt freshman wide receiver Frankie Hammond.

"Brandon Hicks doesn't like to eat," Marotti said. "William Green likes to eat, that's why he's up to 235 pounds. And he's going to get bigger, because he likes to eat and he's a great kid."

Marotti said Patchan has put on some weight since the spring, but would not say how much. "I'm not going to throw out any numbers. Some times they get skewered. He might read it and get (mad). He needs to get bigger."

* Marotti said the player on the team with the most brute strength is senior defensive tackle Troy Epps. "Because of his build. He's just so muscular, so strong," Marotti said.

Marotti said the player with the most "crazy" strength is defensive end Carlos Dunlap.

"It's like picking up a car that's overturned if he's mad enough," Marotti said when asked to describe crazy strength.

Marotti said Dunlap is a player he has to stay on all the time to keep him motivated and working hard.

"I've got to kick him up and down," Marotti said. "You have to be on him like stink on poop. He needs to be pushed. I tell him, 'The good Lord brought you down here as a personal challenge to me.' He was so immature when he got here. I love the kid. He's really starting to learn how to go hard."

* Marotti had high praise for true freshman middle linebacker Jon Bostic, who participated in the spring.

"I love Jon Bostic," he said. "I love him not so much for his build, 6-foot-2, 235 pounds, but for his coachability, his work and his attentiveness. He's all business. Tebow said something about him today. He said, 'I like this guy, and not just because of football.' "

NCAA 2010 New Features

From an Alabama fan:

Sometimes, it's good to be connected. Your friends here at 3SiB got an advanced copy of NCAA 2010 from EA. Every year they improve the game whetherit's just in small ways or with major introductions of new features but every few years they release a flurry of improvements all in one edition, and thisyear has seen a ton of them. Rather than general changes to gameplay, this year EA is going with team-specific tweaks. Without further ado, here are a few ofthe ones we found:

* If you play as the Volunteers in Dynasty mode, during the recruiting phase of the game the volume on the TV goes way up to the point that your neighborscomplain.
* If you play as Alabama, one recruiting pitch used in the previous cycle will be made illegal each year.
* If you fail to win more than two games in a season, the only job offer you'll receive will be from Auburn.
* If you sign a contract extension with an SEC team at the end of the season, the odds you'll be fired at the end of the next season go up 25%.
* If you play as LSU, no matter how many commitments you get, half of those players still sign with Alabama and Tennessee.
* You still have different jersey options, but if you play as Georgia in the black jerseys, the other team is spotted four TDs before kickoff.
* In the state of Tennessee, in order to buy a copy, you have to bring your Dad to the store.
* If Tennessee is recruiting a WR over 6′2″, he immediately commits to Georgia.
* Whereas most schools have multiple recruiting pitches like "proximity to home," "immediate playing time," and "tradition,"Alabama only has one: "Nick Saban."
* Playing as LSU unlocks a new level of difficulty. Like "Varsity" or "Heisman," the Tigers also have "Chavis" which is just likeHeisman, except that your defense will give up the first down on all 3rd and ten or longer situations.
* In addition to Dynasty, there is now an "Alternate Reality" mode where the season ends in a playoff that still doesn't include Utah or BoiseState.
* If you play as Mascot teams, Davy Crockett is now shirtless.
* There's rumor of a special limited edition version in which Colorado gets a few extra recruiting "pitches." This version is rated MA.
* If a season ends with Ohio State and Oklahoma both slated to face each other in a BCS game, the game locks up before a winner can be determined.
* If you play as South Carolina, at the end of the season the game automatically turns to a demo of Tiger Woods 2010 until all other teams have finishedrecruiting.
* Despite not having the ability to actually cheat in recruiting, Urban Meyer complains every week about how you're doing it.
* Penn State is allowed to sign one extra player in each class whose position is listed as "Paterno's organ harvest."
* New announcing team Danielson and Lundquist were added late so they only had time to record three soundbites, all about Tim Tebow. They were originallyscheduled to record some two hundred more soundbites, also all about Tebow.
* When playing with Mississippi State, pressing 'A' to snap the ball also causes the offensive line to disappear.
* If you don't edit Auburn's schedule at the start of the season, the only team on the schedule will be Alabama.
* In Dynasty mode, Florida State loses half their roster right before each bowl game.

* One of the more interesting things Marotti talked about was the breakfast/lunch club. This is for players who need to gain weight. They have to eat at the training table every day and their meals are closely monitored. One player who seems to be resisting is 175-pound tailback Chris Rainey.

I'm scared of this too. He was only a RS Frosh here and he wasn't that bad. In '10 heisn't gonna have any comp at QB so he'll be starting. Plus he'll already have had a year in the system.....and be in a true spread offense. He's gonna do work in the big 10.

Jarmon has tested positive for a banned substance and because of his redshirt year, his year-long ban means his career at UK is over. Jarmon spoke at a very emotional press conference, suggesting that as part of a New Year's Resolution to lose weight, he purchased vitamins and supplements that ended up being against NCAA regulations. Jarmon spoke at length as to how the mistake happened and made clear that a lack of knowledge as to what was banned led to the positive test. He took full responsibility for the failed test, but made it clear that it was not intentional.

Jarmon appealed the NCAA decision and found out late Thursday that he lost the appeal. He chose to speak to the media and asked the chance to talk about his career at UK. Its tough news for Jeremy who has been a great representative for the University over his time in Lexington. Jarmon, who graduated in December, now will study in France for the next year.

As far as the specifics of the banned substance, Jarmon said he would not say what it was or where he purchased it; only that he was buying a vitamin when the dietary supplement was suggested to him by the sales rep at the store. Jarmon took the supplement for 15 days - during a period he was injured and not as engaged with the strenght coaches- and when he told the strength and conditioning staff, they told him to stop. Four days later, he was selected by the NCAA for a random test, which he failed. He later passed another test, showing that he took it only for that short period, but it did not help his case.

A very sad situation. He ended the press conference with this:

"I was born a Kentucky fan, I will die a Kentucky fan, and I will be a Wildcat for life."

damn.
ohwell.gif

Is it to late for Jarmon to be picked in the supplemental draft??

I had no idea this was going on me and my buddy that's a UK fan were talking about how Jarmon would be a first day pick in the Draft next year.

Damn........at least UK fans got Cal to keep them happy.
