"The big difference is we're evaluating game film now," Hurtt said. "Alot of times it was highlight tapes, highlight tapes, highlight tapes. That could be just a big teaser for you. You watch it and all of a sudden people aregeeked up. Then you find the actual game tape, and he doesn't know where he's going on the field and things like that. You find out things in the gamefilm."


When the guy who is now our recruiting coordinator talks about how we were just recruiting kids based off highlight tapes a big red flag goes up in my book.Even I watch some film on these kids and try to catch HS games. Every kid isn't Reggie Bush and is going to have a sick highlight film. Recruitingisn't an exact science but you have to really study these kids to analyze how their game will translate. You can't do that from the highlight film thekid sends you. You have to watch his game film and see everything about him as a player. Not just his best moments.

I knew our staff was pretty bad. But I mean this is just common sense. The Scout/Rivals rankings are damn near worthless. Way more 3 stars have becomeAll-Americans than have 5 stars.

Dam shame.

There is so much talent right there is south Florida. Miamijust needs to keep those guys there. A lot of their standouts over the years were from South Fla.

I think Urban relists all the players we are interested in via his own ranking system/list according to fit - last year put Debose at 1. Not sure how most ofthe coaches do it nowadays.

Tate Forcier is up to 192 lbs which is about a 20 ls gain from when he stepped on campus. Seems like beginner gains from finally lifting. If he can continue togain strength and get some muscle over those bones I am happy. He is the key to the season.

Really looking forward to see what the guys can do this summer. Every spot is wide open except for BGs DE spot. Should be some competition. Not the mosttalented team we have but I think they will be coached up very nicely this year. Seems like Greg Robinson is getting along with RR unlike Shafer and thatshould allow RR to stay away from the D and just focus on his O because they need it. Not expecting a ton this year but getting over .500 would be nice. Inever thought I would say that. Ugggh

that would be because last year all the UM fans started hyping up Miami... and then when the season started & UM had some success there waseven more hype from the UM fans...

and then when the end of the season rolled around... there were no more UM fans left that would speak about anything

FSU Redshirt linebacker Maurice Harris was arrested just before 10 P.M. Monday night by FSU police is now out on bail.

According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office, he is being charged with felony counts of grand theft less than $5,000, property crimes possessing a vehicle with altered numbers, and a non moving traffic misdemeanor violation.

He is being held on $3,500 bond.

Harris has played 6 games in his career and is from Homestead, FL.

(F) GRAND THEFT IS $300 OR MORE BUT LESS THAN $5000

(F) PROPERTY CRIMES POSSESS VEHICLE WITH ALTERED NUMBERS

(M) NONMOVING TRAFFIC VIOL ATTACH REGISTRATION LICENSE PLATE NOT ASSIGNED

He was bailed out Tuesday at midnight.

I don't think 'Tressel Ball' is holding back Terrelle Pryor as much as Pryor's lack of mechanics and such is holding him back. His mechanics are horrendous. He could get away w/ it in HS, but he'd definitely gonna have to fix that.

His Mechanics are fixed? ? ?

I guess we watched different spring games

with no pressure in the spring game he's steppin into throws, thats it, mechanics are the exact same, once the Live bullets starts flyin, more than likelyhe'll be back to throwin off his backfoot

Its easy to hide your flaws when you know you're not gonna get hit.

And how was I way off? Were his mechanics NOT horrendous last year?

But it's damn near impossible, IMO, to completely fix the negatives w/ Pryor's throwing mechanics in a matter of months. He'll be a work in progress. He was very inaccurate last year do to his terrible footwork, throwing posture, etc. I think he'll be able to make due w/ his shotput throwing motion (a la Vince Young) but he's going to have to make drastic improvements other wise. He's a speciemen and a hell of an athlete, but we'll see how he develops as a QB.

Agree on the VY comparisons. Lots of similarities. Both short arm their throws often.
