Comparing Gardner to White is like apples and oranges IMO, D. Robinson is more comparable to White. And to be honest I would kind of hope something clicks w/ Robinson because I think he could be more dangerous than Tate in this offense. DG needs a redshirt esp. since he got #+!%%% on enrolling early.
Agree on almost everything. Regarding Parker, I'm hearing he is pretty much ours already at the moment (obviously could change). If I had tochoose between Baxter and Parker though, I'd take Baxter in a second (even with our defensive needs). Parker seems a bit chubby to me. I don't knowwhere he would fit in on D right away. Baxter comes in and is starting at RB day 1.

Denard is definitely more comparable to White than Gardner. I was never trying to compare the 2 head to head in the first place.

Agree 100% regarding Tate and D-Rob. I really hope Denard beats out Tate. If Denard learns how to read a defense/make good decisions he could be dangerous ashell.

And I agree about the redshirt. If he was in there now, I would have said let the best man start come the fall, but he'll be so far behind now (just likeD-Rob was last year).

Best case scenario IMO, is D-Rob improves enough to beat out Forcier and plays well enough to keep Rich Rod his job. Then Devin starts as a RS frosh withDenard in the slot.

The bigger news from those same sources: UCLA is now Grimble's leader.

The 6-5, 245-pound Grimble, who is ranked the #1 tight end prospect in the nation by Scout.com, is verbally committed to USC. The recent news of Pete Carroll's departure from USC has opened up Grimble's recruitment, according to sources, and UCLA, which was a school he liked early on, now has re-emerged.

This weekend is UCLA's biggest recruiting weekend, with many committed and un-committed players taking their official visits

This will come down to timing. If SC announces a new coach this week, XG will stay committed to SC.

How many games does RichRod have to win this year? 9? 10?

With the new AD...I think RichRod better pull at least 9 wins...which will be tough to do, imo.

Ask yourself, why would he stay at UCLA?

He gets paid peanuts and the program is still shaky.

Plus, something people care about when they get older, he lives in the South Bay so he will have a shorter commute

I would say 8 plus the bowl so yes 9 wins. I believe David Brandon wasn't too thrilled w/ the hire of RRod. I wish Bo were stll alive cuz Ibelieve he would put an end to all this faction BS and would have fully supported RRod.

All signs point to a new coach being announced by mid-week. Even PC mentioned that'll it'll only "take few days". Great news recruiting wise.

Gunna, Todd McNair isn't going up to Seattle and he hasn't been contacted about staying at SC. Looks like you guys have a free shot.

thats %+%$!%#%, he gets paid very good money at UCLA, its one of the reasons RN got him

You serious? His salary was average at best for his level. He was backloaded with Titans money which runs out this year.

Not saying we will, but SC can pay him a LOT more without a blink.

Just heard from a very reliable source that USC is seriously looking at Jack Del Rio as it's head coach with former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta as his defensive coordinator.
The source heard this from Tenuta himself.

I never really keep up with the whole offseason recruiting buzz, but how's Miami doing this year? From the looks of this post it doesn't seem likewe're doing as well as in the past couple years because no one's talking about these big time 5-star kids committing to the U.

Like after hours said, he wanted to come back to SoCal after TN let him go. He never sold his house in the South Bay. I think he is only gettingpaid about $300-400k from what I remember. That's a pretty low salary for Chow, but he is getting money from TN still.

Chow loves SC, always has, he left because of the infighting that everyone is already aware about.

Bring back Orgeron

Even though that wouldn't happen.

I haven't heard anything about Coach O since the Pete Carroll saga began. There was mutual interest about a month ago, don't know if it's stillthere.

Even lower:

Neuheisel was able to hire Chow in 2008 because of some creative negotiating. When UCLA hired Chow, he was due $1 million over each of the next two years -- 2008 and 2009 -- from the Tennessee Titans, who fired him after he'd signed a two-year contract extension. Chow's base salary with UCLA his first two seasons was a manageable $250,000 plus a $50,000 talent fee.

But Chow's three-year contract with UCLA was backloaded because of his Titans contract, which deducted his UCLA salary but paid him the remainder of his $1 million annual salary. In 2010, his deal with the Titans over, Chow is due a $140,000 talent fee as well as a $250,000 retention bonus on top of his base salary.

That retention bonus will be paid to Chow on the first day of spring practices, according to a 2008 report on the contract in the Los Angeles Daily News.

Why? The best team they played all season (Oregon) lost in the Rose Bowl and the team they played in the Fiesta Bowl was another BCS buster (TCU)and they only managed to beat them by a touchdown. Now I'm not one that usually defends the BCS but I don't think that Boise State has much of a caseagainst Alabama who beat Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, LSU, Florida, and then Texas.

this is the main reason nobody sees him going anywhere. most out of UCLA see him hanging it up after this year

'10-Real-Deal-College-Football-Discussion - I was implying next year, or this coming year - 21 returning starters -We will find out how good Boise is when they play VTech - I'm not saying BSU is better than Alabama at all, but in big games and with a month to prepare Iput coach Petersen up there with any other coach in the country......

USC boards are going crazy with Del Rio/Chow rumors, so time will tell.

Plus, it is not that big of a change for Chow to switch schools. He's already familiar with USC and it is closer to home.
