'12 Bulls

Its not an excuse, its a fact. even Philly fans know it. Philly has zero chance of winning this series if Rose hadnt gone down. We werent gonna win a chip without him. All the positivity and camaraderie is nice and all, but let's be honest, deep down we all knew our season was over the second Derrick hit the floor.....

Its a damn shame. Whoever wins it this year should get an asterisk.

Yeah...for the shortened season...not because Rose got hurt.

So funny story, I was wearing my 92-93 Bulls warmup today and I went into Menards. This guy says to me "I know you going to throw that in the trash Tuesday when the Bulls lose". I reply "yeah right, Im NEVER throwing this jacket away". Dude then tells me "Iight but the Heat is going to win the championship this year and Lebron's going to get his ring"
If anyone wants to head up there and harass him, it was the Menards in Calumet City and the dude was in his 30's and walks with a cane

Thinking forward, anyone think its time to clear some cap space and let a few guys go to sign a superstar? Im not saying dismantle the entire team, but I think its time to let some guys go. Amnesty Boozer, he's stepped up his level of productivity but he continues to make stupid mistakes. Also, I feel CJ Watson needs to go and am also on the fence about Luol Deng.

If we ever want to win a title, we need guys who are going to step up and be that reliable leader. We need more atleticism on this team. I also think we need to keep D.Rose out after his surgery and bring him back halfway through next season, if not even later than that. We don't need to rush him back. Even if it means us ending up with the 8th seed next year going into the playoffs, I'd rather take the risk.

Rose was going to get hurt again regardless. Whether it be vs. the Sixers or the Heat etc., he wasnt going to last another 15 games healthy

The bulls still have a chance. It may not be as good.
Losing Rose messed them up. Losing 3 times already has to put a toll on them.
They can pass the 1st round. Any further than that is a stretch. Rose was their captain. He scored. He passed.

Luol Deng needs to sit his injured self down somewhere... I'd rather see him in a suit on the sideline giving 0% effort than on the court giving 30%....

11pts?

....Oh...And Rip, our "Shooting" guard with a whopping 7pts.....

Stern needs to lift that ban off those APL gym shoes so we can see Carlos Boozer dunk the ball...

Everyone calling for the amnesty...but will JR pay him off like he did E Rob? I think its about a $12million difference between Boozer and Taj for the '13 season. That would clear some solid space. I could see Taj starting and getting the Mirotic kid over here off the bench to learn the league.

the players likely to be gone... I don't see Brewer coming back . He is one of a few with non-guaranteed deals for the third year. It just seems that he was in the doghouse for the past month. Korver will be kept IMO. I don't even know who the Bulls would go after in the draft. Then why would we have four shooting guards? How would he even manage the rotation? Butler needs playing time to develop. RIP was signed to help us win now, so he gotta be out there too.

We likely are going to miss Rose and Lu until January at the earliest. I don't think it makes good to have the team coached by an essentially lame duck coach. They need to extend the contract now so thay everyone on that team is buying in for the first couple months without the teams two all stars. I'm fine with the coaching style of Thibs. Would I like to see some adjustments here and there, specifically playing time? Hell yeah. But I do believe we had a chance at the chip this year. We will all talk about this year for the rest of our lives as far as hypotheticals go. But it is what it is.

I just hope we defend our home court tomorrow.

Honestly I don't Pooh to even play next year. Just take the entire yr off rehabing the right way then come back for '14 as strong as possible.

^Definitely need him to be comfortable.

I say keep Boozer and the most of the team intact for one more year. Amnesty him after next season and try to get a 2013 FA to pair with Noah and Rose. James Harden would be great. Plus, Deng will come off the books soon after that.

Signing Harden would be a great addition. I say start Gibson and bench Boozer, release CJ Watson and Ronnie Brewer. Also, give Jimmy Butler more playing time and even have him start against weaker teams.

I haven't looked at salaries, contracts, etc. yet but I always thought that Eric Gordon would be a great backcourt addition.

I wonder though if his knee issues were truly serious or more of a "get me out of NO" cry for help. Chances are, I see the Pacers try and make a run for him to get him to come home.

Harden would be nice too.

considering I've bumped into EG a lot last summer and this past off-season, it's safe to say he would go to Indy

harden would be nice, but i really dont see him leaving the other la kid and kd...obvs $ is gonna be an issue at sea, er okc

i hope drose sits out next yr...time to reset

If the plan is to sit Rose the enitre year you should keep the roster intact and find a PG. Compete and wait to clear all the 2010 money. Watson, Korver, Brewer, Carlos via amnesty.

If the plan is to get Rose back for Feb, or March you find a pg who can play you into the 4seed and make some additions like a Lamar Odom. Nash and Odom playing their best gives the Bulls a excellent title shot if Rose is close to 100% next year.

Me personally the past 2 years the missing piece has been Ben Gordon imo. We can sit here for days and complain about his defense, say he is over the hill etc but the bottom line is that that bench scorer who can create his own shot is the missing piece.
I'm of the thought that 10 minutes of Ben at PG wouldnt hurt as much as many fans think, and Ben has the tools to defend PG's too. If he commited to the defensive end he wouldnt be as bad a liability on 2's as Korver can be. Also if Korver were gone, along with Brewer the minutes would open up. If Rip were going to complain about minutes he would have already.
If Detroit were to give him the amnesty I wouldn't be against his signing on any level.

He will not be ready by January... Not to play in his best possible form.

That's the talk of a antsy fans and over zealous owners. People need to be real about this.
Furthermore if Harden doesn't sign the extension then he will be the PRIZE GET of that '13 FA class and I'd pay him whatever he wanted.

If he's a realistic option you amnesty Boozer and start Taj... He's That Good.

January is OD....
I'm taking March at earliest, and if its in April where you say he is ready, let him sit.

The core of this team ( Deng, Noah, Rose) can wait a year.  You just have to sign the right guy with the 2010 guys gone.

If you want to change the core do it, just make a move that makes sense long and short term.

Derrick hasnt even had the surgery yet. The recovery time is 6-9 months after that. Im not expecting to see him back until March or April. If he's not right by then, we let him sit. We are in a hard spot for next year, Lu will be out until Jan and i think Jimmy and Kyle start at the three until then. We keep Booz for next year and get Taj ready to start the following year, then Mirotic will be coming over soon. I have no problems with Thibs, he will change some of his ways as far as playing guys too many minutes. This is his first gig so he feels the need to win every regular season game. I also think he should be our coach for a long time, Derrick loves him and wants him here. Lets keep our heads, no need to blow a team up that is injuries away from the ECF. It just wasnt out year, luck wasnt on our side

and before ppl starting asking why, derrick is doing prehab - getting his leg as strong and flexible as possible in order to insure best possible outcome regarding rehab

still tilted, but f, what are you gonna do?

So when is Deng going to have Surgery? I'm saying let Brewer go cause with the team were going to have at the beginning of next season he won't fit. Amnesty Boozer start Taj Sign Mayo and have a starting lineup of

Watson
Mayo
Butler
Gibson
Noah
