@ people thinking leo and nolan should be nominated, that is very very good company in the best actor category and even better in the best director. Leo wins in 2012 when he plays J. Edgar Hoover. Nolan, i dunno when he wins, TDK should've been his crown jewel, especially since he shoots with no 2nd unit

yeah, leo's role in inception was solid but it didn't make me think he should get an oscar for it.  you got to remember, nt love's inception like it was their first-born child.  if it were up to them, it would've gotten nominated for everything and won everything.

Richard Roeper put it best.

"No offense to Tom Hooper, but I'll bet Nolan could direct a pretty good "King's Speech." Could anyone else have directed "Inception"?"

Colin Firth + Christian Bale are LOCKS
Annette Bening is being regarded as the favorite BY THE ACADEMY according to the critics

they are saying that it's kind of an "we owe you one" for "American Beauty"

but I think that's BS....Natalie better win best actress...Michelle is certainly #2 though. She was great in Blue Valentine

Where are the best visual effects nominees? Did they take it out?
Anyway I hope Black Swan get a lot of oscars and Natalie Portman for lead actress

Inception should have got way more nominations.

It got nominated 8 times.  Same as The Social Network, and only The King's Speech and True Grit received more.

I'm not going out of my way to defend the Academy, because they've been painfully wrong in the past and will make a lot of more mistakes in the future, but people seem to be complaining about Inception, but I would bet a good portion haven't seen the others films listed.

I'm rooting for the Social Network. I hope it at least wins Best Picture if nothing else.

this is why a serious movie discussion on NT will never happen.

Wow....regardless if Toy Story 3 was good or bad, I think this is the second cartoon to be given this nomination ever since Beauty and the Beast. That is some sort of an accomplishment in itself.
