Yep NBC really disappointing with the coverage. You gotta be able to show some of the stuff live, especially when it comes on at normal hours At the very least, they could've used their NBC Sports Network to show the live stuff and then replayed it on NBC in primetime for the people that don't have cable

They are rivals. The US swimmers seem like a tight group but swimming isn't a team sport except for the ones that do the relay. They are all trying to get theirs. Lochte seems like a cool guy. His interview with McEnroe was good. The stories about Phelps have gotten boring since they always talk about his sisters, mom and all the food he eats.

I just saw the Swedish swimmer's cameltoe.

Phelps didn't get out fast enough in his first 100 (fly). Some might place a bit of the blame on Coach Bowman. Whatever plan they drew up failed miserably. Michael had to get after it early. Thought he might even slip into bronze the last 75, to no avail.

Allowed Lochte to dominate the back and breast legs.

I believe the Lochte/Phelps rivalry is genuine. Somewhat friendly American competition but both guys are out for blood against each other or anyone else. Clary will be next in line.

Truly feel bad for my girl Stephy. Clear shoulder fatigue coupled with a potential training injury. Didn't have a legitimate chance to defend her 400 IM title. The Aussie tabloids speculating about her relationship with Kobe didn't help matters either. So much pressure in Australian for the sport of swimming. Really hope Steph can battle through to complete all her events with heart, determination, and competitiveness.

Missy Franklin is a budding American swimming star.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo swam a monster anchor leg for the Dutch to even secure a place on the podium. She almost willed Netherlands to gold past the Aussies and Americans.

The fact they can't put the men's 400 IM final on an actual television channel on a Saturday afternoon is inexcusable. And because it's a popular event, featuring two of the top American athletes, the online stream crashed for a lot of people. And there's no way to watch a replay until after they show it on NBC

I agree. Then during the afternoon they proceed to talk about the race and tell the full results, including where Lochte and Phelps placed so that there is no point in even watching the event.

Just saw the 400m just now. I know they wanted to bump it to primetime but it's inexcusable that we can't watch that live on any channel on their list of networks.

If you're a swimmer like Phelps, there should be no excuses about any challenge or event. Phelps lost because he was arrogant and ahead of himself. It's a good wake up call and what I talked about about before when I talked about how players got confused by the hype and media.


The IM showed how strong Ryan really is.

Ryan isn't stupid, he knows the hype around Phelps and I think he set Phelps up. But it is what it is. Phelps needs to be more focused and not get into the hype like athletes tend to do.

SHame on Phelps.

I don't care for Ryan though, he is gross and proally has disease.
