If Lebron retired in his prime to play football or Kobe retired in his prime to play soccer it surely wouldn't be glossed over like it was with MJ.

Jordan was their cash cow.
ESPN was 24-7 Jordan after he quit on his team.
Instead of questioning his integrity, they convinced basketball fans to sympathize for him.

MJ has one of those personalities where he would not be denied. His work ethic and determination was unparalleled. He would have made twice as big of an impact as MLK if he was older in the 60's.
