2013 NBA Trade Deadline Thread: February 21

 Gave him Aaron Brooks' old #

Oh wait, he had the # in SacTown. Shows you how many Kings games I've seen ......unfortunately I've probably seen 3 more Rockets games than Kings games. Thanks CSN/DirecTV.

read an interesting article. basically the maloofs did that trade with Houston, because they're selling the kings one way or another after this season so they don't care at all about the long term plan for the team. they saved themselves a little money by making that trade and morey jumped on it for Houston.

I don't know what team name would be worse than the Pelicans, but whatever team that gives Josh Smith a max contract deserves something worse. Maybe the Pigeons.

@wojYahooNBA

"Houston's showing a willingness to move rookie Terrence Jones for a 1st round pick, sources tell Y! Rockets are deep at forward spot."

A trade is definitely brewing for a big piece, Morey stockpiling picks..hmmm

The Rockets can sign only one guy in for the max this upcoming summer right now.

So the only possible way it would be possible is if the Rockets traded Asik and Lin for Smith.
Lin is getting $8.3 million the following two seasons. The $5M-$5M-$15M only applied if the Knicks matched the offer sheet for Lin from the summer.

someone is gonna give Jsmoove a crazy deal. Look at Amare's deal as a reference.

Amare before that deal was coming off seasons where he was an impact star. averaged about 25 a game and his squad was a playoff contender. Hell even the first year of his contract he played up to it. Those injuries after the first year have really slowed him down but at the time he Def deserved the money

Everyone and their mama knows giving $100 million to Amare on uninsured knees wasn't a good move. They signed him thinking Lebron was coming next.

He only counts as 8.3 against the cap these 3 years. Same with Asik. If the Bulls or Knicks matched, than the respective players would count 5-5-15 on their cap. Hence the 'posion pill' aspect of it all.

- Indiana, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Washington all showing interests in JJ Redick - Broussard

- Trade to watch: Udrih-to-Dallas in play but Beno won't be dealt on own til end of deadline in case Bucks need him in bigger (JSmoove) deal - Stein

- Portland's effort to find a first-round pick for J.J. Hickson "doesn't look good right now," league source says. - Berger

- Toronto has emerged as the frontrunner to land Suns guard Sebastian Telfair in a trade.

The Hawks aren't gonna do better than a DMo and/or T. Jones along with expirings for Smith.

How about Demarcus Cousins for Josh Smith?

Sonics would get a new "Reign Man" type player to bring Seattle back with.
