2013 NFL Draft thread - ( Early Entrees, Mocks, Combine etc )

Weren't they trying to get chris ivory?

Latino QBs get it way worse than blacks in the NFL.

Mark Sanchez went to two AFC Championships with a great supporting cast. Now with a weak Jets team he gets dumped on like no other QB. All great QBs have a gret cast around them (except poor Dan Marino). Antonio Romo gets dumped on a ton too

Oh and my boy Jim Plunkett won 2 Superbowls (more than some franchises have) and is still not in the Hall of Fame. There are 1 superbowl QBs in the HOF and Plunkett cant even make the ballot?

To clarify on Travis Frederick: One team rated him a 4th, two had him as a 5th, one a 6th and one a 6-7. Believe Polian graded a 2, McShay 3

Jerry Jones needs to fire the **** out of Jerry Jones.

pick of the draft... the potential for this dude is absolutely amazing

the fact that Buffalo...
a) got him at 16 instead of 8 to add a second rounder
b) took him before Geno/Nassib/Barkley
c) took the only QB in the first

shows that they rated a guy high, and went with it... props for that

size + speed + strength + good character guy = next franchise QB in Buffalo
That's...........a way to look at it.

 Jerruh gonna Jerruh they definitely could've gotten him with the 74 pick they traded for....even Frederick was surprised they took him, I ain't eem mad though

Why don't the Jags take Geno?

Seriously...they need a QB big time...bring some energy next to Blackmon and MJD

If the Jets were smart they'd draft Lacy and not Smith. They haven't had a solid core RB in forever. Lacy allows that, for yrs to come. Worry about QB next year when they are much more talented and impactful. Jets will prob have a top 10 pick again so they can have one of the elite QBs coming out next year.

‘Sorry, wrong number’: E.J. Manuel gets early phone call meant for third pick Dion Jordan

E.J. Manuel says he didn't share the rest of the football world's surprise when the Buffalo Bills made him the first and only quarterback selected in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. The Florida State signal caller was in on the secret that the Bills coveted him highly and the two sides officially became a pair when the team selected him with the No. 16 pick after trading back from the eighth slot earlier in the night.

[Also: E.J. Manuel leaves other QBs behind in first round]

Manuel was taken offguard earlier in the night, however, when someone accidentally dialed a wrong number and gave him a slight rush of excitement over the possibility of top 5 money.

Here's what Manuel told the Dan Patrick Show on Friday (via the show's producer):

Well, that must have been awkward. Did Manuel call Jordan across the green room and say "Uh, it's for you? It's the Dolphins?" Did he consider impersonating Jordan and say there's no way he'd take his talents to South Beach if drafted? Did he just say "wrong number?"

These are questions we need answered, but the Bills have to be happy with the way their new quarterback handled things. He'll have to deal with a lot of curveballs once he's trying to win games in Buffalo.

Outside of Tyron Smith (probably) and Doug Free (debatable), the Cowboys have been awful at drafting offensive linemen in the past decade.

Of the other 12 (seven in the first four rounds), only Stephen Peterman ever played productive snaps in the league, and it was for another team.

So yeah, consider me skeptical of whoever Travis Frederick is.

Why? He won't see the field. Give me Ertz instead.

co-sign that.

And didnt we just bring in Colt McCoy? definitely a capable backup.

We are probably the last team in the league that needs to be looking at QBs right now...
