I'll take those chances. Mychal Thompson had the same injury early in his career, he rebounded just fine.

K love is the most empty stats "super star" ever. Ask Cleveland fans, ask minny fans. He doesn't impact the game at all. Him and Kyrie lost like 7 of 9. You think the him and Dragic will be a playoff team? Not a chance in hell. Keep Randle, get a top 5 pick, go after Gasol or Dragic. Enjoy the rebuild.

But mortgaging the future for empty stats superstar isn't the way back to banner #17.

How would the Lakers be mortgaging our future when we wouldn't have traded any picks?

Depending on how long Cleveland would have him under contract would implement the time dude has to do something or get traded. Also a possibility dude decides not to be a total **** to the franchise and lets everybody know he doesn't like it here and the Lakers can trade him before we walks away w/o giving us anything. I rly doubt Minnesota fans would complain about getting Wiggins and Thaddeus Young and being able to tank so good that ya'll jealous of them.

Nobody said buddy a superstar but the only PF/C that prolly is is Blake or Anthony Davis

Imma just leave it at the "he doesn't impact the game at all"  comment that doesn't even deserve an answer
I just don't see the point in giving up a 20 year old prospect on a cost controlled contract, who gives cap flexibility and will be at similar production levels.

But hey let's trade randle for love and we'll see how that works out for the Lakers.

I wouldn't even sign Kevin Love as a Free Agent.
Please elaborate, since I'm somehow off base with my statements

We just drafted Randle with our 7th pick.

You sign Kevin Love, you now relegate Julius Randle to a career of bench playing for 15 minutes per game. There's no room for growth, no room for production. And if he is good, you will lose him when he's a RFA because you won't pay good money for a guy you have on the bench.

Even signing him is a waste of $20million. Because you have Randle for $3, who knows what Randle will be. If he can't play NBA ball, you let him give it a shot first, then you look at replacing him. You don't replace a bright future guy before he even plays.

Also Kevin Love, hell of a player. Top 20 player in this league cannot survive as a 2nd/3rd option. He needs to be # 1 option to get all the stats he's used to and Kevin Love # 1 option is getting you 35 wins

pmatic pmatic Tank Watch (I'm moving Pistons out of Tank Watch):

Spurs @ Hornets (Back to back, so that means rest for the Spurs Trio)
Rockets @ Magic (Come on avenge the Dwightmare!!!)
76ers @ Raptors
Hawks @ Celtics

Should prolly take the 76ers off the list. Their spot is guaranteed.

I forgot who I'm speaking too. Don't even know why Im responding to such a short sighted person

Randle is our future. If he heals correctly he'll be lightyears better than love.

We don't have any picks to give away either

And Aldridge is better, melo who plays pf nowadays is better than love too.

Once again, how is this short sighted when we get to keep all our picks besides this year?

How I am I short sighted if you think we don't have picks when we will have picks 2016,2017 & 2018. Granted Randle wont even get good playing time until late into 2016

Melo at the PF position isn't better, Aldridge maybe but Love never played with Lilliard.

I'm not saying that trade is the best idea (would need more ppl around him) but if you wanted Kobe to make another run at it next year (most likely his final), it's a good move. Ya'll acting like Love is a dead end, dude is gonna put up stats that will make him tradeable either way.

But you got the crystal ball and know Randle is gonna be better than Love as of right now, and you did predict my short-sightedness (while I'm wearing contacts).

We replaced a bright future guy with his brother and won 2 rings off of it, so I wouldn't always stick with that notion

If we don't keep our pick this year, we will not have our 2017 pick.

Marc Gasol was the 48th pick in the draft, was playing overseas while the Lakers played the 2007-08 season, had little hype or anticipation around him, and looked like this:

He was far from the centerpiece of the deal from either side's perspective.

Trading Randle would be almost nothing like trading the rights to Marc Gasol.

Yea you're right becuz along with Marc the Lakers gave up 3 players and two first rounders for Gasol instead of him and Hill.

Kobe to get shut down by mid March if (when) Lakers are nowhere near playoff contention...
Source?
Byron Scott seems open to the prospect of shutting down Kobe Bryant for the season if the Lakers are out of playoff contention in March.

Drop BHMs...then the X..play in the AsG with AsG Xs...look at standings-see that team is 15-37...shut down. Play Clarkson 25-30 mins...rehab Randle in the lab/behind scenes.. Acquire a 2nd or 2/dump a vet or 3. Close curtains. Am I doing it right? No limit tank emblem??
