No respect for Fish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> letting trolls back to pollute the board.

*shrugs*

(that said, didn't know he didn't respect Fish. Ok, he's more like manups family, on the Canadian side, half cousins sort of thing)

:lol

Whats stopping a VERY good, top 5 pick type - player in college from just not declaring for the draft and dropping out of school after 1 year and signing with the a team (eg Lakers) after July 1st?

Is that illegal?

not trolling now >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything before

"Thread will be much better this year, guys. Watch." >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the infighting, bickering, and nagging before

;)

(This is the part where you go, "I guess" instead of what you're going to actually do.)

I mean, working out in the gym every day isn't gonna be the same as facing off against other opponents, know what I mean? Even if it was some loophole (which it's not) why would a team want to sign a kid that just sat around for a year? Without playin anyone? :\

He's saying what's stopping someone from just dropping out with declaring....

Basically the rookie could pick whatever team he wants to go to :lol

Trust me if that was legal it would have happened by now :lol

Oh.

Yeah, that's not gonna work either, or all HS kids would sit a year or College kids sit a year, and none would go thru the draft, and they'd all apply for jobs to play with LeBron, or Durant, or Kobe, etc.

Not possible.

Thats what I'm thinking.  Lebron would have definitely tried it.

I understand the risk for the player but if you are top 5 - its not that risky.

Like if Towns drops out of school...trys out for the LA D-Fenders.  Plays 1 game and then signs a rookie TYPE of deal.

He could drop out and play for a D-League team, he would just be ineligible to be called up by a NBA team mid-season and have to go through the draft process that summer.

y'all really gonna have a revolving door? firing and hiring a coach each year isn't gonna help you rebuild. pick someone good and give them 5 years. whether it's byron or not, stability is needed.

Byron's proven he's pretty bad, even considering the quality of the roster. I'd rather continue the revolving door than stabilize on this dope, even if it's not a good look.
moving on from him makes sense, but man, that next hire better be perfect. you can't bring in young talent and continually have a couching carousel. that's how guys never develop.

Definitely.

On the flipside I've been pretty afraid of how Byron is going to handle Randle and (hopefully) this year's pick.

Clarkson has flourished recently but Byron took forever to even give him a look, then even longer to give him crunch time minutes.

I see.

so basically YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE DRAFT.

End discussion.

Someone hire a lawyer and find a loophole.  I'm sure players would much rather play for the Lakers than the TWolves.

:lol I like where your head is at. We need some of that shady **** to help us get back on the right path. Thinkin outside the box, I like it. :lol :hat

(it'll just never happen, Dan Gilbert would write a letter....... ) ;)

Rocket Raccoon: Question. What if I see something that I wanna take and it belongs to someone else?

Rhomann Dey: Then you will be arrested.

Rocket Raccoon: But what if I want it more than the person who has it?

Rhomann Dey: Still illegal.

Rocket Raccoon: That doesn't follow. No, I want it more, sir. Do you understand me? What are you laughing at?

I will dream this tonight: Okafor and Winslow wanna play together so both do this...Lakers get the 1st pick.  Take Towns (because he's too scared to do this).

Clarkson

Kobe

Winslow

Okafor

Towns

Dan Gilbert and Mark Cuban would have seizures, full foaming at the mouth and everything.  David Stern will come out of retirement.

No room for Anthony Davis? Randle off the bench?
