No.

Cap Hold on him is $19mil. So our cap space is really only technically $9.5mil right now, until we renounce Pau's rights.

Phil and the Knicks are reportedly targeting Pau...time to extract Bargnani from them. :hat

HELL NO !

A one dimensioal shooter who has a horrible contract.

Dude seriously reminds me of a slighty better version of Space Cadet Radmonvic.

People really believe defense is about coaching? :lol

Kawhi Leonard, elite defender.
Tony Parker, average defender.

Same coach.

Shawn Marion, elite defender.
Amare Stoudemire, garbage defender.

Same coach.

Ron Artest, elite defender Indiana, Houston, Sacramento, LA.

Different coach every stop.

Kobe Bryant elite defender 2003.
Kobe Bryant garbage defender 2011.

Same coach.

LeBron James great defender 2013
LeBron James average defender 2014.

Same coach.

Tony Allen, elite defender.

Has had 4 different coaches.

Can we please, in 2014, stop blaming coaches for players success or failures as defenders?

Pau Gasol has not been good in four ******* years. Stop thinking THIS will be the year he turns it around.
He's old, he's washed, it's over. Let it go. He will never be 2010 Pau again, ever.

Stop blaming coaches for his terribleness. He's sucked for 4 years, three different coaches. It ain't the coaches, it's the player. It's Pau, no one else.

:lol calm down

I think people usually talk more about defensive schemes and coaching players to play proper defensive (as far as principles are concerned) team-wise as well as one on one

No matter how good a player is defensively that one great defender can't stop a team from scoring.

Look at the Spurs ...there's only really one good defender on that squad in Leonard ...everybody else sucks on defensive except Duncan his iq is super high and he is literally ray Lewis out there controlling the defense.
Pop had them cohesive enough and coached great defensively as a team to get thru the western conference as well as knocking off Miami

Buuuuuut the only problem is the Lakers have not a 1 person they can depend on defensively :lol

How do you feel about Kidd coaching the Lakers next year?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are still interested in acquiring Thompson in a blockbuster trade that would send All-Star forward Kevin Love to the Warriors, a source said. But the T'wolves also have secondary interest in Parsons, the source said. If the Thompson trade doesn't happen, the source said Minnesota could attempt a deal sending Love to the Rockets and acquire Parsons in a sign-and-trade. The Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks have primary interest in signing Anthony as a free agent, but also could chase Parsons if they don't, a source said.

Pretty sure the two sides have a wink-wink deal in place, but why not screw the Rockets and sign Parsons to an offer sheet on July 1? :lol

Sure certain players are great no matter the coach (Artest and Allen).

Kobe on your list was 8 years younger and that's why a better defender.

Stoutemire is a bad defender no matter who is the coach - BUT with coaching comes overall coaching schemes whereby his individual defense may be avg or poor, his defense in their scheme is above avg with a coach like Thibs...

There's gotta be a reason why certain coached teams are great defensively while others aren't. That's all the proof you need to see that coaching does affect defense (not cause and effect but does affect it)

A lot of coaches have copied Thibs' schemes. But not a lot of coaches have had the likes of Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Luol Deng, Jimmy Butler, Kirk Hinrich, etc. at their disposal.

There literally isn't a bad move possible.

Other teams probably see the same thing.

So let's say the Celtics and Lakers both offered Chandler 4yrs/40 mil on July 1 and rockets don't match.... who gets him, does CP get to choose?
