2014 NFL Draft Thread

:rollin :rollin :rollin

i mean, i already told yall it's hard to be completely unbiased when i know the guy. sorry for rooting for a friend |I

have i made irrational arguments though? i'm not saying dude is a sure fire HOFer, just don't know why yall dismiss him like he didn't torch college football the last two years. oh right, it's because he's 3 inches shorter than the other prospects. :rolleyes
You & Johnny are friends? 8o

we both enrolled at a&m at the same time. first semester spring 2011. used to ball with him at the rec a lot. i'm older, and he obviously blew up + football schedule so i didn't see him much after so we fell out of touch

I remember seein Kearse in a game against Oakland chasing the QB a few yards downfield, ball goes on a screen to the RB, and guy gains 40-50 yards, only to be tackled by........Kearse.

ESPN creamed themselves showin the distance ran by a Dlineman, who chased down a RB who had a big head start.

Have a feelin, I might see that again someday soon.

Marqise Lee ain't getting drafted in the first round.
if the jets draft him when benjamin or evans still on the board :{

Marqise is better than both of them

He's shorter, has the worst hands, and apparently ain't that much faster than either of them.

Get the **** outta here.

Lee is faster than both of them easily, is a better route runner than both of them and has better hands than KB

:x

for as much as people mention being 40 pounds heavier, he's also 5-6 inches taller = longer strides.

football isn't played on a track, though.

:lol

nah i mean that GIF tho isn't a knock on johnny. but you come in defending the hell out of how he could possibly be slower than clowney who is a beast. there is NO shame in a QB being slower than clowney :lol

if anything, it's kinda nuts that they're even comparing manziel's speed to clowney.

Repped for keeping it real. :lol

What did Quise do that makes him a 2nd round WR all of the sudden? I don't see it.

Coming off a lackluster year IMO he had to show out at the combine to secure a 1st round spot this year.

This is one of the deepest WR classes ever. Dude is 5'11 192 and ran a "slow" 40. I just don't see a team taking him in the first.

But I'm a guy on a sneaker messageboard so what do I know?

True, but he also went from a really good college QB (Barkely) to Kessler/Wittek. As for the combine, he didn't measure out that much differently than the guy a lot of folks compare him to: Reggie Wayne.

If he's there when a team like Baltimore is up, they'd be foolish not to take him (imo).

glad to see that ESPN keeps it's draft prospect analysis up to date...on colt lyerla's intangibles:

No off-the-field issues. Continues to mature. Scouts will investigate mental aptitude. Strong work ethic. Excels in the weight room.

:lol man pipe down

Lee's strength isn't his straight line speed but he was still faster than both of them so idk what you're getting at.

Idk about your worst hands claim either. Marqise has a lot of drops but Evans and Benjamin do as well. I'll give you height

Naw they got a better version of him already. Baltimore needs one of them giants to win them jump balls Flacco be throwing up.

I think Beckham, Cooks, and Matthews performances pushed him out the 1st.

“@georgewhitfield: “@espn: At the 2014 Combine, Jadeveon Clowney’s 4.53 40 was better than…
- All 16 QBs
- 20 of 33 RBs
- 15 of 16 TEs

Not the first time on NT. Trillipino trapstar was friends with DMC.

You sir are wrong. Would like to hear your reasoning for why he is better.
Not a big McCarron fan but I'd like the Patriots to draft him and be TB12's backup.
While I don't think McCarron will be better than two of the three top qb's entering the draft, depending on where he goes I think he will be an above average starter in 2-3 years.

I'll admit, because I'm biased

but what he brings to the table more than the others imo: very elusive, great at stop/go, acceleration, and has good top end speed (it didn't show in the 40, but I mean Gaffney had a better 40 than DAT). Can contribute on special teams as well

attitude wise, very competitive, gives full effort every time and will play with pain if he has to (see junior year)

Marquise Lee had the highest drop rate of all those dudes and the way he body catches I just don't see how he brings more to the table than a 20 year old Mike Evans who already has great hands and is a physical specimen.

Make a list of sub 6 ft sub 200 pound WRs that didn't have elite top end speed that cooked in the NFL as a #1 WR.
