I'm not going to knock a guy with 11 rings. You get 11 rings as a coach and you're great. But I'm also not oblivious to the fact that Phil lucked out and had the 2 greatest SGs of all time, top 3 greatest SF of all time and arguably the most dominant center (definitely the most of my 29 year old life) on his championship squads.

With that said, you still have to pull it all together. His Bulls squad didn't win them all. His Lakers squad didn't win them all. Miami only won 2-4 and that's with 3 top 3-5 guys of their position on the team, one being the best player in the league. Early 2000s Kings had squad and couldn't put it together (damn those Lakers!). Mid 90s Sonics couldn't.

that goes all out the window when the other coach has two of the best nba big mans in league history, countless allstars and future hall of famers in tony parker, manu ginolbli, koala leonard, lamarcus aldrige, etc

pop has had stacked team after another including this year which might be the deepest team hes ever had

not to mention phil won 6 rings alone in a tougher non flopping non soft league back in the day

phil has won 2 3 peats and 3 back to back titles and has won them in BOTH conferences

pop has NEVER and will never win back to back titles let alone a 3 peat in his life

just cuz he acts like a **** and a prick to reporters and media does not make him better

Fact: Phil had the two greatest SGs in NBA history. He also had Dennis, Shaquille, and Scottie too.

Dude literally had all of the work done for him. How come he could never win a title when MJ was retired? Why couldn't he win from 2003-2008 with Kobe?

He gets credit for other dudes achievements and the formation of mega teams. I think Pop being able to win multiple times over multiple years from 1999 to 2014 without having THE super team just shows how much better of a COACH he is. He's been able to take his team to the playoffs for 19 straight years with a consistent defense and system that he built.

I could take the MJ Bulls and Shaq/Frobe Lakers to the finals without trying. I couldn't take 2007 Spurs to the finals without having their system and culture.
