Because the team president Montgomery loves him and believes in him. Just a few days ago he said that Amaro is capable of the job and he thinks he can turn things around.
Phillies need to get rid of Ruben Amaro Jr asap i don't understand why they didn't make this move yet.
They want a top notch prospect for a package of Byrd and Bastardo. Another top notch prospect for Papelbum and another for Lee. Teams aren't gonna give up a lot for Lee because he's owed a lot of money, his age, and he's coming off of an injury. Paps has a lot of money left on his contract and just yesterday it was reported that he wouldn't waive his no trade clause unless he was going to a team that was gonna make him their closer. And Byrd wants any team that trades for him to pick up his option for next year.Just saw on twitter that the Phillies are mad with the offers they've received for their players.
Clayton Kershaw has a higher OBP than he has allowed. Let that sink in for a minute. #Dodgers #LAD

thanks for that, I did not really know that he believes in him. To be honest what is there to believe in smh he brought this damn team down into the ground the past recent years its a joke right now our organization.Because the team president Montgomery loves him and believes in him. There's nothing to believe in. The entire organization is a joke. The team isn't sold on trading away players because they still believe in them or want way too much in return. The Howard situation is a joke. He's struggling and they kept him out 3 games in a row but still continue to hit him 4th. Revere has no arm but he's still in center. But they continue to believe in this team.

“I just believe that group of people gave us the successful period we had,” Montgomery said earlier this week. “They had different roles in it. I know people focus on Ruben’s role having changed vis-a-vis 2009 vs. 2008. But I talked to Pat Gillick about our club this morning. Pat Gillick sat in that entire draft. It’s not like we’re not benefiting from the thinking of the same people we had before. That’s why you have to look at whole body of work. Have we been served well? My answer to that is yes.”
“I just try to pay attention,” Montgomery said. “I think we have pretty good people doing these jobs. We saw, over a long period, pretty good success with this group of people. Obviously, Ruben is part of that group.”
so basically theyre screwed

Tillman with an ATROCIOUS throw to the plate
I'm really curious if the O's are serious about landing Lester or if it's more of DD doing his due diligence.
Asking price would no doubt be Bundy/Harvey.
"I just blame the parents of Brett Gardner. I just blame them for creating a great hitter."
Kershaw in LA has more to do with that than AL/NL comparisons. Being in 1st place helps Kershaw too.If Kershaw is in the AL and Felix in the NL are we talking about Felix as the undisputed best in the game?
No way to know, but I'm bitter that Felix is not looked at as the best bar none.
Gonna be in Baltimore on the 12th and 13th in Sept...thinking about getting tickets to watch em get creamed by the Yanks
I love Camden Yards so I'm hoping they'll be on the cheaper side.
