Heyward is definitely going to get at least $200mm. Defense is still super underrated around the league.

Oh and let's not go overboard praising that corpse Peter "Bobby Crosby is the next Derek Jeter" Gammonds.

i find it ironic CP ***** on the only guy in baseball older than him. I guess he's jealous of Gammons' having seen the sport's very first game.

As much **** as I'm giving Boston, it's a move they needed to make.

for sure. and im glad. but im still disgusted by it :lol

you look at the FA's coming up next year, and it's not that deep. had to throw hard at Price or Greinke. we would never get Strasburg

The average anual value of player contracts is going up. Baseball is making more money than ever, and players are getting a smaller piece of the pie. That's going to change.

and he's young so i get it but
sick.gif
Harper and Trout gonna get half a billy
I am a huge advocate of defense in baseball, but give me a ******* break.  Heyward a $300M player?  That's a joke.  In fact, Heyward as a $200M player is a joke.

I'll take Hunter Pence at $90M 10 times out of 10 over Heyward at $200-300M.  That is just outrageous.

Hellllll no @ Shark near that $100M range. Especially after this season :x .

Aroldis Chapman is represented by Marc Anthony.

That Marc Anthony.

:lol

You Sang To Me Marc Anthony? :rollin

Yup :lol just saw it this morning. Told my co-worker it might work out well for Chapman. He got J-Lo to marry him and have kids with him, he's gotta have some negotiating skills :lol

What choice do we have though?

We will be stuck with a mid level #1, and four # 4 or #5 starters if we don't make a splash and sign a big arm.

I hear you but 35 mill a year is a lot, you never know with pitchers
