I think they bowed out as well. Whether it's a poor decision, time will tell. Probably thought the deal was reckless. Plus Kasten is pretty adamant about not giving players contracts past their age 36 season. This deal takes Greinke through age 38.

The Shelby Miller talks will probably heat up now and possibly Heyward as well.

They'll try to go after Heyward I guess but St. Louis is going to be super aggressive with all the money they allocated for Price. Leake was SF's plan but if he's meeting with AZ as well, they're not gonna get into a bidding war over him

LA is spending that money regardless. Maybe they give Heyward $250mm. Maybe they give Shark his $100mm or they give Zobrist the 4th year. If they were really crafty...they'd work something out for Carrasco and win the offseason in December.
