Not necessarily. Mets still had prospects to deal last year and had the means to make a trade for a big bat. No one on the Mets last year was making as much as Cespedes is this year. Mets don't have a Fulmer they could trade right now.

Meh. DeGrom has been pretty good after he found his rhythm following the injury and his sons complications. Thor has been dominant. Matz has had three shaky starts. Harvey is getting back to the mix hopefully.

Trade wise itll be tough

Harvey has been really good lately. Thor is hands down the best starter on the staff. Something about deGrom seems off from last year. Matz is a stud.

Mets defense has also been a killer, at least in the games I've watched. That's what separates having a good and a great rotation. If the Mets had the Cubs defensive players right now they wouldn't be 5 games out and probably would be in 1st.

We've gotten better at second n short but unless Rene Rivera is catching still can't throw runners out. Outfield is what it is. Third is an issue. Loney is decent enough at first if we had everything clicking.

For a story. Nobody has him as the actual hits leader. It's like Gordie Howe and some of his 'goals' were cited when from a different league. Just for conversation and what could have been

We should try to add his batting practice home runs to his totals as well so he could reach 150 career homers.
