2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Hold on Hold on. Is that the public prove that Bron and Kyrie don't like each other?

Don't really care what Wade does tbh, he's paid his dues and Hopefully Heat are doing their best to pay him back but he's acting like Lebby-lite

If he's going to go out, he could've come out and stated his issue, if there is any...

Man Jalen and Jacoby making a mockery of OKC. It's only right

Jacoby to Jalen: "KD is on the phone w/ his agent after telling him it's GSW and KD says, I'll call you back, I have to call Russ, how does that Convo go?"

(ring ring ring)

Jalen answers as Russ: "Sup KD, reaaaaalllly, yooooooooo, I'm out too........"

It's been a minute since I've anticipated the NBA season like this.

It's still just July? Damn.

I don't think anyone wants to trade for a rental. Never understood why teams trade for players in their contract yr rather than just wait until they hit free agency.

Cause some places just aren't attractive to free agents.

I think Miami is a place that makes sense for Russ long term. Great organization weather taxes etc. lakers or Boston don't make sense and what OKC would get in return isn't of much to build from.

I can't see OKC letting him walk for nothing after this debacle.

Agreed.. Only 2 ways I think it would make sense is if they know the player will sign an extension or they need to move salary now w a trade rather than wait til the offseason if they don't have enough cap room.

No guarantee you get a player in free agency especially a team like Miami that will be at the cap and have to trade players just to make room.

Lakers shouldn't trade for Russ. They know he will meet w them this offseason. Plus they can't afford to give up any young players.
Boston has plenty of picks to give up but I don't see Russ staying there long term so they shouldn't waste those assets for a 1 year rental that still won't get them past the cavs.

The Russ situation is gonna be interesting... And yea they def can't just let him walk too.

The Lakers can wait until the offseason, but there's no guarantee that with whatever new parameters come with the new CBA or likely a lockout, that Russ will be available just to sign on. Ideally it's the smart move to just wait it out, but seeing as how they've screwed up in free agency, I don't even know if I want it to get to that point where they have to sell Russ on LA.

I'd ideally wait until closer to the trade deadline if possible where OKC has to get something but you don't have to give up as much. I personally just want to keep Ingram at all costs, everybody else can go.
