Funny thing is my 'gameplan' on harden is exactly what popovich and the Spurs did last year . What non hoopers fail to realize is that it's not even necessarily about scoring on harden. It's about taking your best offensive player (harden)and saying ok if you're gonna switch everything I'm gonna dump it into the post, make him play defense and wear his *** out. Then on the other end I'm gonna take away the drives and lobs as best I can then let him iso and Jack 3s on tired legs. I don't think the non baller brand understands how tiring it is to a) guard the post and b) iso iso iso all day. Post or perimeter, bottom line is attack him and make him work on defense

I believe the league WANTS it, but they can only influence it but so many ways. They can't make shots go in/out of the rim. The most they can do is influence refs and I wouldn't put it past them.

Yup. Couple swallowed whistles. 50/50 calls to okc. Bailout calls. Momentum killing whistles. Gobert in foul trouble....and the game is influenced. But like you said...ultimately....if the shots go in and you execute...you can beat bad officiating.

Refs more so influence desired outcomes of the league than outright cheating. And it can be real subtle at times....but clear as day to those who know.

Hell I'd rather guard the post than chase around the perimeter 365 days out of 365. Hate guarding shooters.

Spurs were giving Harden the midrange last year iirc but Kawhi was a big reason for that defense being successful

Gasol and Aldridge dropped all the way into the lane and challenge shots at the rim.

The Spurs dared him to shoot the midrange and he couldn’t. It was a carbon copy of what Portland did to the Rockets

Game 1 3/8 (8 out of 13 fga were 3s)
Game 2 2/9 (9/17 fga were 3s)
Game 3 5/13 (13/28 )
Game 4 4/11 (11/18 )
Game 5 4/15 (15/24)
Game 6 2/9 (9/11)
