2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

As bad as Russ decision making and shooting is I still would take him over Wall who's coming off missing 2 years. Both got terrible contracts and flawed players but Russ is at least gonna be on the floor. Wizards gonna us Russ to sell tickets also, it's ok deal for them. Rockets just making another move that does nothing to improve their team.

Pour some out for the end of John Wall's Wiz tenure:

:wow:

I like how everyone is assuming KD will come back the same but Wall is completely washed... (i know one relies on athleticism more than the other)

Wall whole game predicated on speed and athleticism. He not transcendently skilled with a bag of tricks. If he's not faster than everyone, he's pretty reggie....ironically.

Win 25 games and trade your future 1st rounder for a 32 year old who relies on his athleticism? Decent protections on the pick but still

Russ gets to statpad his way through another season. He’s gotta be happy as hell.

anytime a player dominates like 50% of his team's possessions, there will be guys who don't want to play with him

give Doncic like two years and same thing will happen

Yeah honestly I'm cool off that heliocentric dribble dribble dribble archetype. Loved seeing teams like Toronto and Miami

Luka will at least show a pulse off ball though. I also hope Trae don't end up not that Harden dribble diet

Last year, I was disappointed to learn of the following stat--that John Wall spent 76.57 percent of floor time either standing still or walking, the largest such share among all rotation players, according to tracking data from Second Spectrum. This was by far the worst number of any player in the league. Dirk Nowitzki was right behind Wall, and he was almost 40 years old.

Best of luck to the good man Stephen Silas.

I actually think he shouldn't be primary ball handler. Same with harden. Sure takeover at certain moments but dominating it the whole game almost never leads to team success. Unfortunately with the way stats are tied into contracts and what not nowadays it's likely inflated video game stats over selfless team play for the near future..
