Let's look the other way then.....

The teams receiving their new #1 WR.

Browns get Coop. He didn't get a new contract. They paying Watson........1 million dollars this year.
Raiders get Adams. Carr is #11 cap hit.
Dolphins get Hill, rookie QB contract.
Eagles get Brown, rookie QB contract.
Cards get Brown, rookie QB contract.

Deebo wants out, team in hot pursuit.....the Jets.....team with a rookie QB contract.

I'm totally making all of this **** up. Absolutely nothin to see here. Coincidence, both directions.

This why I can’t rock with CP on this

We’re paying good money to guys all over our roster outside of the QB position

Our oline and dline got multiple guys msking good money.. and just added a top 15 guy to that group

Even with wentz, we were paying the backup good money and had dead money from 2 other QBs

Hell we had huge dead money from wentz last year

There are convos to be had, but it’s pointless if we can’t be honest about the full picture

C CP1708 you 100% right. Teams with QBs in the top tier pay bracket have to go cheap. You can’t build an entire roster when you are paying guys at the top of the bracket at multiple positions.

We are also seeing that GMs around the league believe that the quality of WRs coming out and how they are almost plug in play makes them feel more comfortable letting a star WR walk.

The chiefs had bad drafts and were overly reliant on a handful of players and ended up losing the damn super bowl because of it

They saw an opportunity to reload the roster

They traded a speed guy slightly early for a boatload of picks

The bigger issue for the chiefs was them getting cute and drafting a RB in round 1 over filling out key parts of the roster AND going cheap in the draft at RB

Titans opted to pay the dline over wr (and still they dealt for a vet like woods who isn’t exactly cheap himself). Tannehill likely won’t be there in 2 years once his deal is up.

Exactly. Paying a QB top tier money is not the same as paying your LBer top tier money and your LT, and your RB etc.

If you have a QB on a rookie deal you can completely fill out a roster.

If you pay top dollar to your QB, you have to go young/cheap at all those other positions.

It's been trending this way for a while, but it's starting to get extreme as QB salaries reaching monopoly money.

just look at the chiefs last couple of draft classes and that puts things into a better perspective

Also if you make huge trades and the guy(s) don’t have a huge impact, don’t have to wonder why other things have to happen

Like Seattle with trading for Adams, guy needs to make a huge difference given the price paid

Why the Chiefs took CEH in the first is beyond me. Terrible decision especially when they had so many areas of real need.

When you have a QB who is part a of deal that ‘resets’ the market someone else on the team is going to get sacrificed. Teams that are successful have cost control options. They get everything they can from that player while he is on a team friendly deal and then try and draft / find his replacement.

really like Olave to the Saints.

Ravens picks just felt like Raven type of guys.

I can't like the Jags pick of Walker. What a risk

Thank you Eagles for snatching Jordan Davis up and keeping him away from the Chargers. I can live with them taking a guard instead of adding a bull to a good roster of defensive players.

Love McVay and Sneads reaction to the Pats taking Cole Strange. These dudes were high on him and watched a ton of film on the kid thinking he would be there at #104!! Leave it up to BB to grab him so high.
