I’m a huge Dray fan and he’s one of the best all time at his specific role, BUT, I hate when people compare legit #1 options to him.
A team with Dray as the #1 option is going straight into the top 4 of the lottery. At any point of his career.

can anchor your entire defense and then facilitating on offense a little.
Being the best player doesnt mean being the number 1 option.

Gobert wasn’t the best player on that team. Mitchell was. Don’t really care what the regular season numbers say. Watch the playoffs and tell me how Gobert could be considered better than Mitchell. I saw the Clippers attack him relentlessly on defense and Gobert couldn’t even make the clippers pay on the other end when he had Batum on him.

I just don’t think it’s fair to say Draymond is better than players x,y & z when we know that a team with a prime Dray as the 1 option would struggle to win 20 games. Which other top 100 player or HoFer can you say that for?

Again you said lead the team to the lottery. Playoffs are about matchups. The Jazz had a 56 win pace when Mitchell didn’t play. Gobert is a flawed player that’s why he can be unplayable in certain matchups but over the course of the regular season he was there best player.
In his prime Dray was a top 15-20 player in the league. Right along with the likes of Beal , Gobert, Randle now.Dray is definitely not the player he was 5 years ago but even then he can still anchor a defense.
With Dray healthy and average defenders you will have a top 5 defense. Those teams rarely suck.
