I feel so sad for Eric Bieniemy

I don’t get how you hire professionals and they give you recommendations

and you don’t even interview those individuals

I get certain teams passing on bieniemy.. but Texans have their QB in place and just need to build an offense around him

Rivers is a fringe HOF to me - I could see it either way.

He has the numbers, but what goes against him is they can't let in everyone from his era of QBs. The voters have never rolled that way.

We've only had 2 quarterbacks go in (Favre, Warner) who even played 2000 and beyond. The passing stats now are skewered of course but Rivers has about 7 other QBs of (close to) his era who also are likely going in. Do the voters let in the 8th best QB after this list?

Brees
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Brady
Roethlisberger
Rodgers
Wilson

If Romo got in...So is Rivers.

I like the hire. Sirianni didn a hell of a job at Mount Union and IUP as a DB/WR coach. It was always a matter time before he got a head coaching gig in CFB or NFL

Building takes time, picks and a sound front office.

So it comes down to if he's trying to wait or not.

He's turned into the token for teams to comply with the Rooney rule. :frown: :smh:

While teams are clamoring for all of the 30 something white guys with connections.
It's wild how even the league sent out a memo just last year trying to actively incentivize teams for more diverse coaching/GM searches after how bad of a look it was last cycle only for the owners to double down on showing their asses again this year  >D

Can't see anything really changing until there's more diversity among ownership and FO's leaguewide which still feels like a far way out or unless the threat of litigation rears itself again( i.e. the whole eason the Rooney rule even became a thing)

The Dan Campbell hire infuriates me. How in the hell does he do well in interviews?

I'm going to guarantee that one looks bad within 2 years. With what you could have done, thats the guy? Unless nobody wanted that job. Or they must be preparing to blow it all up and he's just a place holder

To be fair to Campbell, he did pretty well as the Dolphins interim HC in 2015. Unless I’m mistaken, no other candidates had NFL HC experience.

I would rather Bienemy take over KC in a few years rather go to a bad organization. Maybe 1 of these new coaches will still be in their position in a few years.

yea that’s why I think Houston made sense.. you get Watson to buy in but bieniemy isn’t really going there as a QB coach/developer kinda deal

and there are aspects that carry over, speed at WR and competency at QB.. but everyone gets they get time since BOB screwed them with draft capital

Hopefully Haskins gets serious about football....could be his only remaining chance.....Steelers not picking high likely means its his job to win.....I could Also see them sign/trade for a QB named Matt
