He may have started it, but this wouldn’t continue without Spo. Lakers had a culture with Phil there. Went to **** after. Spurs with Pop, both organizations have respectable people up top too.

Players on a day to day see and interact with Spo way more than Riley. Coach sets the culture on a day to day basis imo.

None of this is taking away from Riley either.

Post Heatles era it seems like Pat handed the keys fully to Spo. The players they got now mostly look at Spo as the tone setter just becasue Pat has gotten older, not around as much.
