Wonder how the older players look at these deals now , Dave Winfield back in the day signed for 10/ $23 mil with the Yanks and that was the highest ever at that point.

Think we're gonna see the first billion dollar athlete, thats crazy ...

It is crazy to think about it. To think Lonzo Ball is going to make more off his rookie contract than Magic earned in his entire playing career is wild. Floyd Mayweather makes more in a single round than all-time greats from the 60’s-70’s made in their careers. Babe Ruth barely made a million dollars when adjusted for inflation. Some starting pitchers make nearly that each game they play.

The money is way too ridiculous now.

Especially in baseball  .

159 of estimated 424 HOF ballots counted (37.5 percent) are in...

Early voting results charted by Hall of Fame tracker Ryan Thibodaux indicate a record nine of 33 candidates have a shot to get the needed 75 percent for election.

98.8 - Chipper Jones
94.4 - Jim Thome
93.8 - Vlad Guerrero
80.6 - Edgar Martinez
78.8 - Trevor Hoffman
73.1 - Mike Mussina
69.4 - Barry Bonds
69.4 - Roger Clemens
66.9 - Curt Schilling
40.1 - Larry Walker
28.1 - Omar Vizquel
27.5 - Manny Ramirez

^ Both Bonds and Clemens have actually been increasing each year. They're likely out this year...but they are trending to be in before their candidacy expires.

Bonds was 44.3% in 2016 and 53.8% in 2017

Both no doubt deserve to be in but hopefully for old times sake will grant us one final time on the podium insulting our intelligence with their denials.

Bonds will be in eventually. I’d be disappointed if Edgar Martinez doesn’t make it in this year.
