I actually do, ever since WBC has been a thing I've followed NPB, KBO, and the Winter Dominican Leagues. Seiya is NPB's best hitting player to come over since Hideki Matsui. Is he the next _____? Likely not, but he's a very good player and one that'll likely provide some value for what he's projected to sign for.

I think the stat comparisons between Ortiz and Bonds misses a nuance point which is the point that Ortiz was a juicer too. If his juicing is cool (which as a conservative I believe it is as long as he's juicing roids and not kale) then Bonds and Clemens should've got the nod just like him because they had better stats and were better players. If juicing isn't OK then he should be on the outs just like everyone else. What I think is happening though is I see this as a first step in letting both Bonds and Clemens in. Writers in the future can't argue that they won't allow steroid cheats in now after admitting Big Papi. Big Papi was their test case because he was a nice guy that the writers likes. It is hard to be the test case if you're a jerk.

I think for the most part a lot of folks aren't saying Papi shouldn't be in the Hall, just that Barry should've been in 10 years ago and damn near unanimously.

I don't think the MLB can prevent SDS from releasing the game since SDS is owned by Sony

Yeah I just thought since the MLB and the MLBPA haven’t come to an agreement yet, it would prevent this due to the Show using player name and likeness. Guess not.

Yeah, I thought they'd put a former MLB player on the cover just like NBA 2K did with MJ during the NBA lockout

I assume MLB are confident that MLB and the MLBPA will get the deal done somehow

I believe with MLB The Show they have a deal with the MLB PA and MLB so it doesn’t affect the release of the game.
