Correra is only 2 years younger than Xander. Correa's annual average per season has to be at least be in the $30 million per season range and his deal has 2 more years in it.

isn't it 27mil vs 25mil? availability/injury is obviously the most deterring and important thing against giving correa that contract but he's pretty much better than xander in every single way and that's not even including being one of the best postseason players. if the comparison is between the two players only, then correa's contract is much better than xander's imo

Cats been out the bag, all these teams have cable deals, and the profit numbers are easier to dig up than ever. I think some owners talked about enforcing a salary floor, meaning every team had to spend 100 mil a year or something.

Thats my whole point there. Every Met fan that i know would say the Yanks bought their chips when their "core 4" were all from the farm. We paid to keep our own. Sure we stole a couple away but not like people make it seem. Steinbrenner always put his money back in the team not other business interests. Now the Mets are doing what Steinbrenner did for years and now it's all good. I don't have a problem with them having this gigantic payroll to finish 2nd and a first rd bump, i just have an issue with whenever it's anyone but the Yankees it's all good and no one has a problem.
