literally goes against the rule book

The ball hit the side of dude’s glove THEN the fans’ hands Stevie Wonder. He had already closed the glove himself

get some glasses, his glove already closed then he hit the hand.

if the ball goes over the stands, and the fan doesn't reach OVER the stands, it's fair...

hell of an assumption to think betts makes a catch 2 feet over the wall

at worst it's a ground rule double, not an out...

This is what I saw initially, but I don't agree. Real speed, it was enough with his glove hand travelling to close on that contact, which caused the ball to fall. Looked clear after seeing it a few times.

Pretty simple.

Was the ball over the line when Betts went for it?

Yes. Therefore no such thing as interference. Not too sure what y’all don’t get. Sure he coulda/woulda made the catch but the fan has a right to it also since it’s out of the field of play.

it doesn't even matter if the glove hits first or not

this is clearly the rule...

Need a better angle but it looks some of the fans are over the wall while Betts’ glove is just inside the stands

But that's not what you said. I was directly responding to what you two said about the glove already closing. Not at all...

This gif proves it even further
No.

I understand the rule guys, but first of all, where contact was made with the fans hand(s) it looks close to being parallel to the top of the wall. If the ball hits the foul pole, it's a HR...I look at it the same as that imaginary wall extended to the roof. Betts elevated and didn't really reach over into the stands. The fans extended barely and not into the field of play but right above the wall.

it is what i said. it's literally the 2nd sentence.

the first sentence was only in response to the glove **** because i was just adding to the discussion.

Astors got ******, that ball is in the stands. Betts glove is in the stands. They got played. I get it if he leaned over the wall and caught it but that didn’t happen.

Can’t believe they made that awful call and I can’t believe they called that in Houston

I was responding to the first sentence then in conjunction with what peep said which was the same...it was clearly very wrong and set the tone for your argument.

And the rule doesn't specify what I pointed out.

It was a good call, in my opinion.
