The discussion is that the ball was beyond the line, so the fan does not interfere with it. If you think it was beyond the line (which I do), then the fan has every right to the ball. If you think it wasn’t, then interference is fine.
Just don’t say Betts would have caught it if the fan didn’t interfere if you honestly believe the ball was outside the field of play.
