Brooklyn Projects is taking a lot of flack for the heel stitching.
They wrote this on N-SB .....
"There was supposed to be a star on it. We have one sample of that one but the Hollywood chamber of commerce saw it and wasn't thrilled about calling the shoe the Walk Of Fame and sent a nice lawsuit to us and Nike. That's why the shoe was put on ice for a minute and Dom had to jump through hoops and red tape to make this happen. So we put our logo in the back with the same Hollywood sign type lettering to represent the city it's named from. And Nike legal wasn't too happy with that or the footbed imagery. Which the original art work was banned by Nike but we are using the artwork for a tee. Hope this clears up any questions."
If they really NEEDED to put the stitching on the heel and really wanted it to resemble the Hollywood Sign they should have made it all "Shakey" like the Hollywood sign really is.
It just looks super awkward with it all straight like that.
BP are legitimately the kings of BS. They craft up all these excuses ahead of time to try and jack up the hype for their releases. I don't think they have ever had a collab that wasn't "almost banned". Also, if they really wanted to replicate the Hollywood sign then why not just do it? Would have been a lot better than just sticking their names on the back, but of course according to them having any reference to Hollywood is a no go. If that's true why the f*uck do I see chains like "Hollywood nails" (written in the same font as the Hollywood sign) and all sorts of places with Hollywood in the name. Shouldn't those places be forced to change their names according to BPs logic, so many loopholes with them it's just stupid. Makes me happy to see that the general consensus on their exclusives is that they are god awful. They deserve no praise for this type of crap.
I honestly hate how they get so many collabs with SB in the first place. I would much rather see a place like premier get a second collab than BP get their like 10000th. But then again the scumbags will always get further in life, and OH BOY is Dom the definition of one.
