2024 NIKE SB DUNK THREAD_____GRs and QSs added

Yeah, FC largely caters to the demographic who is willing to pay extra to not have to think about putting in work.

Keeping it 100, I'm no baller, but spending hours searching for a pair of kicks for $100 less than Flight Club would be a waste of my time if I didn't love it. I love sneakers, and I love the hunt, and the thrill of getting steals, and while I don't hurt for money, I need to be smart if I'm going to continue building the collection I want. But, time is definitely money, so there's something to be said for being able to walk into a reputable store that is known not to deal with fakes that has an extensive stock of hard to find kicks. If you just want to be fly, but don't take joy in nerding out, and you have the resources, it makes sense.

That's the thing that lots of people fail to understand in general. A successful store has a defined customer base and target demographic. A lot of times when people talk crap about a store, they are not the target demographic. ...You're not supposed to like it - it's not really for you.

Plus, as has been mentioned, FC has name recognition. There's a status associated with shopping there. ...At least to some.

Occasionally, you can even find decent deals there. Over the years, I've purchased maybe a dozen pairs of shoes from FCNY, no SBs though.

Rif is a pain. Ordering online is amateur hour extraordinaire. Frankly, so many sneaker shops, and especially consignment shops, are run so poorly, that FC almost retains its status by default.

Pretty much just said exactly what I was going to say. Also, for non-Jordan stuff (and now non-SB stuff as well), you can sometimes find good prices on stuff. But that's becoming less and less likely. One note on Rif. I've requested pics from them FIVE TIMES and never gotten one set of pics. And believe me, I've scoured my spam inbox just to make sure they didn't get routed there. I even emailed them about not receiving the pics and, of course, never got a reply back. Do you guys get replies from them when asking for pics?

Movie Streaming Website. It Asked To Run Java, I Said No, Then It Did Anyways -____- . My Computer Is STILL ******.

Never.

These Are Sooo Dope. I Need To Find Me A Pair.
What was the movie streaming website, if u don't mind me asking? If it's something u don't feel comfortable divulging, just ignore this, but I'm interested to know. I did a little bit of reading up on that virus, and the whole scam is pretty ridiculous. I've had enough interaction with law enforcement to know that they wouldn't ask you for a Green Dot Money Pak as form of payment, but still, some people would easily fall for that if they feared their families finding out they were downloading ****** porn on a regular basis...

Y E P!

I restrained myself in my first post on this subject but it plays the biggest part for me. Like mentioned in my previous post a couple pages back, customer service plays a big factor on where I spend money.

Rif ( and every other small Consignment Shop in LA) Customer service = ****! Flight Club wins in this department hands down. Flight Club has grown men that know how to handle themselves and talk to people and run a legitimate business.

The 16-19 year olds ( not a shot at the youngins cause I know it's not all of you) that work at Rif. The Holy Grail. etc... are not who I would ever want representing my business. I've seen these kids run rampant on FB pages talking **** to other people about I got this.. and you don't have this.. and my **** isn't fake because of this and I work at __________ shop.. and blah blah blah.. and then delete it after.

Yeah man I wish rif's site was more professional. I've requested so many pics and never received a response as well

I don't know anybody who has actually received pics from RIF. I just had this same discussion in the Team AF1 thread. LOL.

Damn should have done that while I was lacing them, just finished and threw them on. Here is how they are on feet, can always take more pics.

Waaaaay better with stock white SB laces, imo (Pardon the half-unfocused pic; just wanted to throw it up real quick - I just happened to be relacing my joints when I noticed y'all talking about it. Sorry if someone already posted a pic with the stock joints in there).

yeah I wouldn't use the XI laces. If anything use black SB laces.

Didn't try 'em yet with the black SB laces. Instinct told me to go with the white joints, just cuz the Js are white-laced. I'll have to check 'em out with the black joints.

One thing good I can say about these HFs is I imagine the toebox will crease much less than leather, which is AWESOME for someone like me, that absolutely abhors creasing. Also, even though the soles will obviously yellow over time (hopefully a lot less sooner than the Space Jams, due to that "urine-cake" blue tint), the rest of the shoe will probably be much easier to keep clean as well, as long as you take care of your kicks and clean any stains immediately. For dudes that don't clean their kicks, it'll probably be a disaster waiting to happen, but for someone like me, I'll be able to keep 'em looking good for a long time.

I copped a pair off RIF and a few days later they hit me with the cancellation email...lack of stock.

Yup, it's settled; I will never waste another second on that site again. If I'm in LA and happen to stop by the store, fine, but I'm done messing with their webstore.

It's not just an online problem.. It happens in store too..

I went in to look around one time and I asked the employee if they had a certain shoe in a 10.5 and he said yes. I said let me get that.. He walks over to the shoe and picks it up and looks at the bottom and says " We only have an 11 and a 12"..... I hit em with the  then I said, " So you don't have the 10.5 I just asked you about?" He replied " No"... I just turned around and walked out.

Went with these today, I noticed a 'clicking' in the heel when I walk, anyone know how to fix this? I know the baby powder trick for Jordans and NSW but this isn't a squeaking, is it the zoom bag?. Any info or insight would help, thanks.

Loving the pics and people actually wearing their Concords, that's what's up.

Since we're speaking about RIF.LA (sneaker consignment store), I will chime in on my experience. This might be off topic but I noticed many members here were buying SBs from their website. I strongly suggest you don't bother unless you're local to them. Here is why...

RIF.LA has outstanding customer service for locals IN STORE. Hence the word IN STORE. They always greet me and ask if I need help with anything when I visit their store. Their prices are a lot cheaper than Flight Club from a buying perspective. I also like the fact that they give back to the community, for example you will see them give away shoes, clothes, turkeys to homeless people. That is pretty awesome of them if you ask me...

So where does it go wrong with RIF.LA? Professionalism. As great as they are to the local community, the company is POORLY run in many ways.

Starting with the website and inventory... Their were a couple of members on here who have ordered shoes from the online site only to get the cancellation email later. If you haven't noticed, the web site design is complete trash along with it not being able to update inventory in real time.

Next up, their customer service via email or phone... Why does this place even have a phone number? I'm pretty convinced that once the store is open, they will pick up the phone and leave it on the busy tone until they close. Ever try emailing them for pictures or a random inquiry? Well good luck getting a response. I'm fairly certain that they will only respond back to celebrity clientele or payment issues with an order.

Consignment... Looking to sell your shoes here? Don't bother. My suggestion would be to drive to Flight Club LA which is like 15-20 mins away. Why? Mainly because Flight Club is well known worldwide and has way more traffic. RIF.LA takes 15% of the sales price as commission while Flight Club takes 20% so that makes RIF.LA better right? Wrong! RIF.LA makes you price your shoes cheaper so they can compete with Flight Club. At the end of the day, you will still have a higher check payout at Flight Club. That 5% less they're taking doesn't do jack since Flight Club prices are marked a lot higher.

Oh and lets say you do give them some shoes to sell on consignment, how will you know if they're sold? You won't due to their ****** website that doesn't update inventory in real time. How about calling them or emailing them to ask? As I stated earlier, good luck getting a response. If a shoe is sold at Flight Club, you will get an automated email from their system once a week so kudos to them for that.

Hopefully this post will give you some what of an idea about sneaker consignment shops and why Flight Club rules them all.

Oh and If you guys want me to go in depth on Flight Club, I can do that as well

I'm in LA and messed with Rif for a while. They actually hooked it up with some deals before and the customer service was great. Then lately all the probrlems others mentioned started happening. First they hire these young dudes which i have no problem with but for the most part they just aren't on top of it. They don't know whats in stock, the website is always out of sync, and they have poor customer service.

Its funny though cuz they are blowing up. The last couple of times i was there some random celebrity is there or a professional athlete. I get that they need to promote that but they pretty much shut the shop down where everyone is helping them. They left all the other customers just waiting while they posted all their instagram, twitter, fb, pics :smh: :smh: i straight up just left.

They also do this funny thing where they give some of the latest releases to homeless people around the area and post pictures. Like with the Jordan 11's. I still don't know what to fully think of it. I mean yeah its great that you gave a guy without shoes a pair. But wouldn't he get jacked or straight up sell that pair for who knows what?

Have you guys ever had a bad experience with a sellerr where you buy a shoe and its been worn way more than stated?

You and b20 eg8 hit it dead on when it comes to their employees. There are two owners that run the place but they usually rely on the work of their employees which consist of a bunch of high school kids that somewhat know about sneakers. From my experience, these kids are pretty nice but they're uneducated from a business perspective.

You're also right about them when it comes to celebrities/athletes. They get priority customer service! Why? Because they got $$$$$ money to blow and the fact that they're depending on them to tell their fans or friends about their store. All marketing right there...

Are FC in-store prices the same as the online store? Never really bother to check them out when I'm up there.
