Toss them in the washing machine...Lighten up that darker denim color, and kick the fraying up too...

How can I lighten the darker denim?

I got this pair from eBay. They smell of smoke. Should I put them in a garbage bag full of dryer sheets and bury under a tree until the next full moon? Any suggestions to lower the smell are appreciated.

Put them flat in a trash bag with 2-3 open boxes of baking soda and tie the bag up. Let 'em chill for a few days to a week.

Should remove some of the Vaseline from the lens of the sidekick, and get proper red laces that match the soles. Team red?
Maybe they are and red is just a bad idea.
