That def isn’t just it

Other factors play a part, overall debt and credit score as well.

If you got a lot of debt you can pay your bills on time all you want for 20 years but they ain’t increasing your CL :lol

Does applying for a credit increase on your cc lowers your score?

Who's your lender? Lenders will let you know if they will require a hard pull to increase your credit limit. I personally would not use a hard pull for a credit limit increase but everyone's different. A hard pull could lower your score a couple of points and an increase could increase your score if you have high utilization. Awesome avatar btw

So I finally can pay some of my debt, but unfortunately some accounts have been sent to collections, will my score increase while I make monthly payments to the collector or only after I pay off the whole amount???

How long have you not paid your debt? I think after a certain amout of time (2 years?) without paying and it wont effect your score any longer unless you make a payment. Someone correct me if im wrong.
How accurate are credit karma and the fico scores the banks give you for free? I have about a 40 point diffrence in to two but credit karma hasnt seemed to have added my new credit card on their website?

bout to hit my year with this Chase Reserve Card, so im thinking of grabbing the Discover It for their new CashBack Match program. Seems like an identical card to the Chase Freedom which i also currently own. Pros and Cons welcomed. TIA

None of them have annual fees so they dont cost you anything. I'd rather have Chase UR points vs. cash back. The savings can be lucrative with Discover that first year between going through their shopping portal and their rotating categories every quarter. After the first year, it's pretty much useless. It's really up to you and what your prefer.

Are you over 5/24 ?

thats exactly what I was thinking, is there a cap to the cashback match program?

Nah don’t think there’s a cap. I hit $800 something between the cash back I earned and the referral cash back so I got a nice $800 check after my year. Referral bonus counts towards what they match so get it in if you can

Just hit mine last month. Decided to keep it because Chase UR points help me out more, plus it's easy to get points with all the travelling + rotating categories on the Freedom card.

I actually just booked my honeymoon using a bunch of UR points. Essentially an around the world trip on business class.

More info on this? Where are you going / how many points did it require?

I think I'm doing a snow trip to Japan in January, by transferring UR points over to United. 35k points each way, for a direct flight from DEN to Tokyo... but not business class (which is like 170k points each way). I've never done any of this Miles / Points type ****, so I'm not sure if I'm missing out on better deals. For me to go in and buy these same United flights via the Chase portal, it'd use up all of my 136k points whereas by transferring to United, I can use only 70k.

Sure thing, trip is basically like this:

SFO -> Barcelona for 65k on Air France (using Air France miles)
Barcelona -> Maldives for 45k on Turkish Airlines (using United miles)
Maldives -> Singapore (paying out of pocket, but flights are pretty cheap)
Singapore -> SFO for 88k points on Singapore Air (using Singapore miles).

It really depends on where you're flying to when determining what the best use for your point would be. If booking through the Chase portal, your points are basically being used as cash (thus, the amount of miles can flucuate) vs. transferring them to United, where flights are going to be a set amount. 35k United points to Japan sounds about right. If you use the Chase portal, you can earn United miles as United treats it as a cash fare. If I were you, I'd transfer the UR points over to United, unless you see tickets for cheap. Sorry if it sounds like gibberish; I'm dealing with real bad congestion, just PM me if you have any other questions.
