They're the Knicks.  No one's expected much from them in over a decade.

Look at their record, look how many ups & downs they've had all season. They are a first round exit at best. Either winning only 1 game or swept.

Because they built the entire foundation for their future on two frauds.

Well, Lin and Stoudemire are out for the season. Davis is still hampered by strains and past injuries. If they get healthy next year and sign a legitimate headcoach, they should be good. It's highly unlikely they push any farther than the second round in the playoffs. Their first matchup is Chicago or Miami.

Let the record show, a non-Knicks fan is making a thread about us

- Carmelo and Amare have not been the "elite" players that the team needed. Two elite players would have kept this team well above .500 for the entire season. Whether Carmelo has been injured or not.. our "superstar play" has been weak.
- While the team's defense improved (a constant problem of the past), now the offense was severely weak. Attempting to make Carmelo a point forward was a noble effort, but awful idea. Without a quality PG, Amare was ineffective offensively, and he already was weak defensively.
- The solid backups you speak of.. Davis was injured, JR came late, the corpse of Mike Bibby sucks, Shumpert is a rookie and adjusting, Novak didn't get minutes until a dozen games into the season or so
- Lin had an insane start, leveled, off, then injured.
- D'Antoni and the personnel continued to be a poor fit and ultimately, the team had to get rid of him.

All of the strengths you listed, have rarely been on the court at 100% at the same time. Plenty of teams have injuries, coaching struggles, new additions, rookies, whatever.. the Knicks have been struggling to make adjustments to the problems they faced.

Am I the only one who wants the Bucks to make it to the playoffs over the knicks? Monta Ellis + Brandon Jennings, and they're a really great team offensively. Although they would get swept by the Bulls

Well Carmelo and Amare haavent been elite this year. Carmelo probably playing like 15th-20 player in the leauge this year and Amare is probably in the forties. Lin was good but he had free rein( kinda like Nash did) but that was with D'Antoni. Chandler is good all around player but hes not a go to offensive option,  JR Smith is a good backup.  Novak is a 3 pt specialist, he wasnt getting any run of the ok Spurs team last year,  Baron is a good backup but he didnt play til like a month ago. Bibby isnt good anymore, Landry Fields is just a solid player nothing more, Shumpert is ok too

ONE question I have always wondered.... my 23 years of being a fan of this team... WHY does EVERYONE want them to lose so bad? It's not like we're the lakers and we been taking many of the championships... Or even the Yankees I can understand... but the Knicks? Really?
There are poorly run franchises all across the country in all of pro sports... But the hate is thick for this team...

Can ANYONE explain this to me?
