it reads 48 divided by 2 times 12. should be 288. multiplication and division have the same rank.
the ( 9+ 3) just breaks down to a number. solve the ( ). no further distribution laws needed. it becomes a number.
you have to read it as is linearly. you solve every math problem as is. cant be adding extra ( ) and what not.
