or how about india and china are laughing at us because they arent gonna be held to standards that could hinder economies as they continue to flourish....

CARBON DIOXIDE ISNT A POLLUTANT, da minute ya let these crooks classify it as such as da minute they're gonna be able to tax every walking thing on this soil and isssh REALLY hits da fan.

if electric cars are gonna be da future, its gonna happen on its own merit, not force feed to da public....its not gonna happen taxing oil, its not gonna happen by subsidizing discounts on hybrids and such long term...

Who is this "us" you speak of, because I'm fairly certain taxes would be levied heaviest on those that emit the highest amount of CO2 into the atmosphere, i.e. not the average citizen at all.
Please read this before you talk any more. It really isn't that difficult to comprehend, nor is it that hard to see the pattern.

No, we're ALL failing in regards to cutting carbon emissions. It would take a completely unified effort to cut down. India and China need to be held accountable as well as other nations. It won't work unless everyone is on board. The main problem is our society is so profit driven for right now, no one really cares about the problems they are creating for future generations. It is mind boggling and sickening.

No, again. It won't happen on its own merit. Oil companies are too large and have too much money to allow it to happen on its own. They effectively misinform people to keep them away from alternative energy sources. A good example of this; YOU.

funny you mention twinkies, politicians in NY been salivating on taxing sodas and juice drinks for a WHILE now...

but hey ya keep letting government tell ya how to live ya lives.

If the government was telling me I had to be a gluttonous pig and eat 15 pounds of meat with a side of human brains every week, then yes, I would certainly have an issue. But when the government is trying to KEEP ME from being a gluttonous pig and feeding my children nothing but Twinkies and Pepsi, I won't really have a problem.
I don't know if you've noticed but there is a tremendous obesity epidemic in this country and it stems from poor eating habits that are started at a very young age. If you think it's okay that this happens then again, you can go right ahead and eat whatever you want, just don't ask the government for assistance when you get diabetes and can no longer work because they have to amputate your foot.

Live by the free market, die by it.

I don't necessarily agree with this completely but in this argument I'm with you. People argue against alternative energy as being too expensive and that the "cost-benefit analysis" isn't there and they get extremely angry when environmentalists try and lobby for large tax benefits and government fund injections... but we've been subsidizing farming practices that have absolutely no chances of creating "real profits". I guess big oil and big auto companies and big agro can just afford more politicians and better lobbyists. Dog eat dog world.

I have been hoping for this for a while, other countries have been doing this for a minute too. Once these energy efficient moves tip, everyone will be on that time, I was hoping it would have been before 2025 though, I am trying to buy that flying whip soon. Word to the Jetsons.

Ninjahood keeps saying that the United States government is forcing electric cars down our throats.  Yet, the sales of fuel efficient cars are greater than the sales of gas guzzlers.

So answer the question,  what kind of cars do Americans want and buy the most?  You've been dodging this question over and over again for several pages already.
