adidas is just contracting out to other alternatives to keep the products on schedule.

That is incorrect, MII are not fake.

MII 700’s have a flatter toe box but they are still 100% genuine as Adidas outsourced some of the manufacturing to India.

They've been outsourcing to India way before the pandemic. By the second/third restock on the Waves they started using India.
