This is a great post. Not much has changed, none of this is new. I actually have two different prints on one shoe on a 2024 like the poster states he had on a 2001 lol. And yeah I just over the last few years realized a lot of the 2001’s has some ridiculously bold elephant print that wasn’t a good look.Posted this previous In the wc3 reimagined thread.

Thin print on 2001's were indeed hard to come by. I ended up with thin EP on my one and only pair...
Bonus....on my 2003 Wht/Cmt's too....but don't remember what the consensus was in terms of print on those......

When the 01s came out I remember getting them very easily, I believe the flightposite 3s were the back to school shoe in my area.

I remember 2003 white cements being really difficult to grab, my mom got them for me and paid like $275 on Jamaica Ave.

The consensus regarding the EP at that time was nothing. In that era, heads didn’t even care or put their shoes under the scrutiny of a microscope, comparing them to the OGs like nobody’s business like they do now. So I don’t think there was a consensus other than people preferred they kept NA on the back instead of the jumpman and even that was niche talking point at the time and hadn’t grown legs yet. I seemed to have confused you. I'm not talking about what people thought back then of the EP on the 2003 Wht/Cmt's. I remember clearly people never really mentioned it nor cared as much as they do today.
I mean, and I'm asking now too....what did the majority of 2003 Wht/Cmt's have in terms of elephant print? Thin vs. thick.
Was it mostly thin, like on my pair? Was it mostly thick like on 2001 Blk/Cmt's? Or did it simply vary? I don't remember.

People were definitely complaining back then on NT but it was a small amount of people in the threads.

No time for pics right now, so don’t ask. Total of 3 pairs, (2 snkrs, 1 footlocker ship to me). All 3 seem pretty consistent. One pair has a very slightly more tumbled toe, which would probably match after a wear. All 3 pretty much completely matching light elephant print. All 3 pairs VW1. Now not sure to send back, or hold for later trade bait.
Y’all are really too picky when it comes to this stuff. Plenty of other drops have similar or worse inconsistencies, I don’t know what all of a sudden it matters so much now.

Heads are def too picky....but.....again, this is NT....the home of over obsessed sneaker heads.
To their point though, the Jordan 3 in particular is a unique shoe in that the elephant print and heights of panels can make the shoe look completely off/different if they're incorrect.
Where as an Air Force 1, or even certain Jordan models don't matter as much in terms of overall appearance if a few subtle things are off.
If there's a shoe to be picky with it's the Jordan 3.

I know ima get hate for this but I actually miss the little red over the tongues of the shoes. Especially on the white cements.
