Air Jordan 38

Show off hands..🙋🏻who has copped and are thinking or planning on returning them? Just copped and waiting for them to arrived but kinda worried now lol. Copped from fnl too for $180 with $15 coupon code and $20 reward plus 15% CB. Now I’m wondering if I shoulda just done NDC for the easy return
Haven't even seen them in person yet. Went into ****'s over the weekend hoping to cop a feel but they didn't have any. Been mostly getting the low version every year so it'll be a while for me plus I try to wait for a discounted price

joex joex returned mine. Got them and the Jump 2 the same day and the Jump 2 plays better for me. I’ll wait and grab the 38 when it drops in price or a different color.

I'm only wearing mine casually so hopefully the low amount of stress that puts on them doesn't lead to the sole issues.

Went out to eat at my little local Italian spot last night. Weather cooled off enough to throw on some black nike warmup pants, then thought 'why not' and threw on my pair. First outside wear and loved rocking them. Gonna keep doing so with zero effs given. And like you said the other day, KanyIZZY KanyIZZY ... for the first time in a billion years, I 100-percent felt like I was really wearing a pair of THE NEW AIR JORDANS.

I'll return and have them replaced once they blow on my feet.

😢Well it looks like 2 weeks possibly turned into 2 months today...7 hours ago while training some of my college players in a private session, we played 1v1, after coming full speed for an extended lay-up, I landed on someones foot and that person was waiting behind the baseline...upon landing my ankle literally snapped real loud (I will spare you the rest of the details 😉)

Luckily I was able to get immediate care. Have an appointment with the surgeon first thing tomorrow morning.

Normally I got skinny ankles.
The picture angle doesn't do it justice(it is way worse in person) but the lateral side of my ankle is about the size of a tennis ball right now...

So my 38 are gonna have to wait a little while before I can try'em out I guess.

Meanwhile guys I hope you enjoy your new J's. Stay safe outhere 🙂
Dang. I did something similar 20+ years ago. Declined surgery even though the surgeon said I should operate. Took a good 3-4 months to heal on its own, but it was good as new. Been playing on it since 2002-2003! Not sure how it would heal if it happened to me in my 40’s now, though. I wish you a speedy recovery… whatever you decide to do.

had this sort of sprain in my late 20s. it was really bad and had it hemorrhaging and was in agony for 2 weeks. went to several specialists and cost me a few hundreds to no avail. even went to a well-known chiropractor from Colorado who was also a well-known derby vet and spent a lot to no avail. finally went to an unknown and highly recommended chiropractor out of desperation. only took 1 visit from him and a few minutes to correct and make the necessary adjustment to my foot to let it finally heal properly. it was due to him that I began to believe in chiropractice. having said that, he is 1 out of 10 chiropractors that are capable of therapy.

genuinely happy for you and Sneeker that you were both able to fully recover from your injury and still be able to perform and enjoy life and bball to its fullest, but that encourages me alot.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I really do appreciate you taking the time. I will take it for account for sure!

I'm currently confronted with choices and there are still alot of unknowns yet, but I've been in contact with my physio twice a day since the injury and the latest conclusions tend to go in the very same direction you did.

If everything else is done right, given my background, even though I'm 47 right now, if inflammation reduces to a reasonnable level fast enough, as it is there is still a chance for the ligament to heal and re-attach on its own if we can stabilise the joint and get the ligament edges close enough. Will need MRI and/or scintigraphy in the coming days to recheck for the bone damage and a tendon state before making a final decision as there are signs of possible injury there too.

Basketball is my life and 100% mobility and full function is critical to me in the end. As a coach I think it's important to mix it up with my players on court because it enables you to have a better feel for their game than by just looking from the sidelines, plus it creates stronger bonds and it motivates me day in and day out to challenge them in a fun positive way and showing them young pups we're not all dead wood or dinosaurs! lol Talking can do so much, so I like to lead by example so that's the thing that hurts me the most right now...

Anyhow, I was soooooooo anticipating playing in my 38 too since its part of the fun as well to me experiencing the latest J's or choosing what older Air Jordan I'm gonna wear to practice on a daily basis to try an inspire the kids any way that I can or create bonds and after a rough patch, it's the first pair of shoes I was able to finally afford in almost a year...unfortunately some of that will still have to wait. (Just chatting, NOTcomplaining, I know there are way worse things in life)
Meanwhile I can always come to NT and dream about the next colorway or retro or read you guys comments to help make the wait seem shorter. Much love NT ❤️
Appreciate you guys!

for now, better do the R-I-C-E therapy. you also might want to consider changing your play style.

I'm very sorry to hear that, that's why I don't like playing basketball with people.

I love to play but it's always some bs that happens.

I mean why's he on the baseline while you're doing a layup? That's not a defensive position.

Get well soon

I hear ya, never had an ankle injury ever! That was just a freak accident: 1 in a million.
I will go through rehab and see how it goes and of course I will be very careful, I won't take any shortcuts and will leave no stones unturned. Yeah at least I can always shoot the lights out! lol so I still got that option, but it was always a goal of mine to still be able to dunk at age 50 despite my short height for a basketball player, being able to mix it up with my son until he plays in college at least, squat big loads just because I enjoy the challenge and maybe compete again in track and field, but at the Worlds Masters level eventually...now IDK, maybe I will have to reconsider all of that, but it is too early to say right now and I'm not the kind to give up so...I will give it all I got into rehab and we'll see where it leads me.

Apparently there is an updated protocol to ICE, RICE and PRICE which is called ''PEACE & LOVE'' now. It's a good read if anyone is interested.
Call me when it’s this bad. Still not the same.

Damn! That is bad!!! It hurts just looking at it! mine was similar but not dislocated, in reverse, aka on the lateral side. Yours looks like it was dislocated. Mine is still in place by the grace of God I don't know how but foot is now misaligned. The lateral side of my ankle was as big as a grapefruit initially. The picture I showed was after 24 hours, lots of icing, compression and heavy anti-inflammatory rx to control excessive swelling, so it looked way worse(than the pic I posted) half an hour after the injury occured... taking pictures was not on my mind initially since I recieved immediate care.

The guy waiting on the baseline was waiting for his turn and was looking elsewhere apparently, we were playing king of court.

Yeah I was driving full beans and went for a big jump/an extended reverse layup so I landed baseline on the opposite side of the basket, on one foot with alot of momentum and my body twisted. Usually no big deal to land smoothly on one foot as long as you land on level ground...but then we heard a loud ''CRAAACK'' as if a big tree branch just snapped and that was it.

Thanks for all the support guys, much appreciated!❤️

same here. atleast I'm a decent shot although I sometimes revert back to my old habits of playing power forward since I'm a monster on the boards and could defend the post. although I lost some lift on me due to me being 75 lbs heavier when I was crashing the boards. although it's much tougher pushing me out the paint area. pros and cons. I'd say I'm better now as a point forward due to my age and the younglings change of play style. rarely they even go to the post anymore, so I'm locking them out from the outside since lots of them are shooting 3s. better for me since I don't have to grind it out down low that much anymore.

I like the shoe but all these very quickly presenting, serious quality issues in this thread are making me think this shoe isn’t worth more than 125-130 to me if I buy at all. 31-35 all held up well for me whether it was casual or balling. Yeah the 33 pull tab was janky and abandoned but I’ve never had a Jordan separate on court that quickly. OG Cherry XIV foam teeth came off after a good amount of balling but what I’ve seen in this thread is B-grade BS on a signature Jordan that’s over $200 full price. That’s weak.
