Air Jordan 5 OG “Black Metallic” Reimagined 2025 !

Did people think the white edges were 3M or something?

I think one of the pics posted earlier gave the appearance or look that it was so I think some were hoping at the possibility.

When the details were first leaking, 3M piping was one of the features announced

This is gonna be absolutely wild if they really just painted the edge lines white because people griping about it and taking white pencils to their pairs to "make them more OG."

Huge plot twist . Watching zsneak video now....

No 3m piping hmmm

Black Mettas are my fav 5's

So i'll take any piping at this point...

Beyond wild if they added some top coat of white to make the lines stand out so much. It's like gdamn, all most of us wanted were the exposed gray (not white) edges that occurred naturally when the material was cut. Yeah, I took a gray pencil to my 2019 IVs to get the look, but I always thought the guys actually painting the edges were doing the wrong thing in terms of an OG appearance. So of course JB sees this and decides to do it straight from the factory and over-exaggerate the whole thing (if that's what's truly been done here) :smh:

That said, I always thought 3M edges was a terrible and tacky idea, so between the two I'd be more likely to buy this version without 3M lines. But then they went and made the NA on the heel a non-stitched reflective piece for no good reason. I could overlook that and get over it, but this release is just an entirely bizarre creation. The heel NA is really the only thing reimagined about them. The lines aren't reimagined other than the process by which JB is achieving them and how prominent they appear. Like, either REIMAGINE the damn things or just leave them alone and release them in OG form.

If they used paint, at least no one here will need to use white crayon or white colored pencil on these

If they just used the right version of durabuck, neither they nor anyone else would have to add any lines in the first place ...
No one can say that isn't possible anymore because of the modern material or some other BS. JB has released other shoes that do in fact have the contrasting edging when the material is cut.
This would be like how when they retroed the Space Jam and concord and black/red XIs in the past eight years with the contrasting edges on the patent. Some previous retros had lost that detail. They brought it back by doing the material in a way to make it happen properly, not by painting those exposed edges.

Oh I know. That was mostly for jokes lol.

Wild that the netting still looks somewhat clear on those. They can’t get 4 or 5 netting right to save their lives

I am frustrated with this release as well.
