Whoever is selling those 2016, White Cement's in the second pic for $750, needs their ***es whooped too.

Remember though, those are just listings. People can list for whatever price they want.
Look at the sold pairs. Most are going for around $350-$500.

I’m not surprised at the prices. Not a perfect retro but they’re the only wearable black cements and they look fire on feet.

Maybe for used pairs but you’re not finding a DS size 12.5 for less than $500. There’s always an extreme premium for that size

Nope. Searched eBay for "New With Box", not used. Searched all sizes. 12.5 is a rare size regardless.

12 highest (cost plus shipping) priced listings on ebay are over 1k...the 13th highest is $999.99 with free shipping
it's a shoe that I wouldn't even throw on to take the trash out
note that the seller with the $950 said the price is negotiable
so many people these days on ebay list shoes for such wild prices...why?

Resell in general is laughable these days but 4s are beyond comical. Thing is people are willing to pay it thus the cycle of madness not only continues but increasingly rages on.
Stopped browsing a couple years back on 4s especially because they are just not worth it. Have even seen busted worn pairs list for over $300. Would rather throw coin at some UAs than to ever go that route.

I was able to walk into a Footlocker here in Aus and pick up the CG4's after a week but those sold out ASAP. I figured I had a chance cause it was literally just an all black pair of 4s. Resell on them is stupid

They sat b/c they're awful. Aside from the enthusiasts that had them before or always wanted them, the shape, cut, tongue, look, materials are just awful. The current market has gone bad sh*t crazy. There's just no rational explanation why they're going for that much let alone more than BC4s. Makes no sense.

Two of my friends said their teenage daughters wanted a pair of Black Cats. When I told them they were going for $700-800 they thought I was trying to resale and get rich off them.

I think it was one of those shoes that mostly people went after to actually wear. I doubt there were many people who bought 5-6 pairs to sit on like with the BC so not a ton of DS pairs sitting in peoples stock rooms.
They were a no look pass for me though. Always hated them.

We were talking about them making the shoes more narrow to save money on materials.
It's pretty much been proven, I've restored 3-4 pairs of 1999 4s and 2001 3s and the midsoles on newer retros are a lot more narrow.
They don't even fit on the older retros and OGs without a lot of manipulation.

It's the RIGHT thing to do. S***, if they're deadstock, you'll probably get $700 for them...
