Air Jordan V 5 Retro Fire Red "Black Tongue" 8/31

Always liked how the white toe piece seperates the flow of red from mid sole to under sole. Cant see how these will differ from the 3m tongue release. They had that typical stiff look but what recent smooth white leather retro doesnt. Seems these wont be that hard to get. Even the 5s that were said to be limited and hyped werent that bad. Fire red 3 numbers? Doubt it. Dont know what the number was but its kindve a joke. They are restocking at a bred xi rate in a matter of weeks. Cant wait for these.

Looks like Nike stores doing RSVP on these this week. Would have been better if they did it last week

Employee at NikeSF said only reason there was no RSVP was because there was too many releases to deal with in 1 weekend i guess...3's, 4's, 5's

Personally, I'm just shooting the sht on here.  Throwing out my opinion.  It's like a guessing game.  Will something sit or won't it?

THE Shoe Wizard should be more insightful & concrete & less wishy-washy. I expect more even from a shoe warlock or shoe muse.

i believe same thing was happening with the black grapes. First pics had the lace locks one color but official pics and RD release had the lace lock a different color. I think it was the opposite of the grapes lace lock. I think grapes lace lock was purple and the BGs were emerald. But the early pairs of BGs lace lock was not emerald

Before the grapes released there were ton of early pairs floating around with different lace locks. Some were black (same as retail version) others got red or emerald. I think there were also some people doing early reviews of the grapes that had different lace locks or no lace locks with their early pairs
AIR JORDAN 5 “FIRE RED” OG & 2013 COMPARISON
One of the four original colorways of the Air Jordan 5, the “Fire Reds” are back for only the second time in 23 years. The AJ5 was brought to life by Tinker Hatfield and features innovative and creative elements and features. As the first model to feature a clear sole, accented by the bright red shark teeth shapes on the midsole, the “Fire Red” 5 personified its endorser. This colorway perfectly complimented the Chicago Bulls jerseys, and the “23″ stamp on the heel personalized it exclusively to MJ. Michael Jordan  laced up the“Fire Red” Jordan 5  during the first half of the 1990-91 season, which would propel him to his second NBA MVP and first NBA Championship.

The Air Jordan 5  “Fire Red”  received its first and only retro release in 2007, and is now back in its same color scheme for 2013. The differences from the 1990 OG and the newest retro are few and far between, with the largest eye-catcher being a slimmer modern “23″ stamp, as JB kept it classic. Scroll through to see a detailed comparison between the first OG release and the 2013 Air Jordan 5  “Fire Red”.

so basically only 3 noticeable changes ..
the 23 font (which doesnt make a difference)
the upside down Air Jordan (which doesnt make a difference)
The blue icy sole (which is more evident noticeable than the other 2)

well the NA if that matters to you

Man, I hope I can cop these. These were the jordan's I always wanted as a kid.

Also, the neoprene type material (not sure) that borders the netting below the black tongue on the OG is different from the 2013's.

I wish the comparisons of the shoe would have the 2 different versions (OGs and 2013s) side by side in the same pic. That would make it a much better comparison imo
