Nah it isn't snitching on anyone that's purchased, it's the fact that these sites are really shady & if people believe that the pairs they received are fake than they should be removed from all the legit lists.

It wasn't just about the Concords either, it's about ppl receiving Fake Ray Allen 13's from Sneakerape as well.

Calm down .. It isn't about any members, just the shadiness of these sites so far.

Why would anyone 'tell' on anyone for discussing these lol.
I never even heard of sneakerape......stop bring that up....we know that site sells fakes
We also know for a fact that people have purchased from AR and SDS and received LEGIT pair of kicks before.

THERE WON'T BE A FAIR COMPARISON UNTIL DECEMBER 23RD WHEN THE REAL PAIRS ARE RELEASED. JUST SO HAPPENED THAT THE FAKE RAY ALLEN 13'S AND THE REAL PAIRS RELEASED FAIRLY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER.

So Jay said on twitter that the reason they were able to get space jams 2 yrs after release was because the factory still had them stocked. Take that however you want.

Anyone consider the fact that nike restocked the spacejams this year at certain retailers during all star weekend? did those soles come yellowed?

did they? waits for people to say those are legit while these arent

how come nobody ever questions how the shoes on release day at FL, FA, etc. are still icy when they were produced almost half a year before release day? maybe the factories know how to store them and keep them fresh and that could be why the SJ Jay is selling are super icy.

I'm saying.. Didn't eastbay have a restock of the cool grey's do? They getting fakes too?

we dont care for sneakerape. this is about SDS and AR. people have bought from them before. from personal experience the shoes are legit. til its confirmed they are somehow "fake" they are legit sellers. shady but legit.
SNEAKERAPE SDS AR AND ALL THE OTHER EARLY RELEASE SELLERS GET THEIR SHOES FROM THE SAME SOURCE.

Somebody can go back and check the thread but I'm 99% sure it was posted that spacejams were purchased from a few spots on all star weekend this year

This thread has taken an interesting turn.  Nike shoes that are made in a Nike authorized factory, using Nike materials, but are not actually being controlled by Nike still fake?

So if Nike doesn't authorize the production of the kicks but are still made in the same factory and using the same materials, I don't think it can be consider fake.

Wrong?

THEY HAD SOME MINOR YELLOWING AROUND THE PODS....

Nah, I got a pair for my girl on that restock. No yellowing whatsoever.  Kinda had me mad they didn't have my size
laugh.gif

Ill be glad when we all get our shoes so that we can move on from all this speculation. I understand that the true Litmus test will not come until Dec. 23rd rolls around, but at least we can have a sample of what we are all talking about in hand. I'm tired of checking this thread for info only to wade through the "BS" and learn one FACT for every 25 posts of speculation. Booooooorred.

HMMM, MY FAM'S PAIR HAD YELLOWING ON THE PODS ALTHOUGH IT WAS MINOR.

what i wanna know is whats up with everyone calling them "fake" now when these sites been around for what 2+ years now? these sites have always sold shoes and people on here always bought them but not one person called or assumed them to be fake. SDS sold BIN 13's, not a problem. SDS sold doernbecher 3's. not a problem. so whats the deal now? they have been selling 100% legit shoes and not a single word or problem about authenticity. the only problem was with them being flawed/b-grade on some shoes.

think everyone needs to calm down on the fake crap and stop with the assumptions.

People are going to hate regardless, no need to get worked up. Personally, I'm patiently waiting for my pair, they turn out to be fake, I'll file a claim, simple as that. Funny how those that didn't order are the ones that have their panties in a bunch. Jealous much?

how do you know that?

ok, put VMV and sneakerape on the fakes list, sure (cuz they may get authentics from the same factories, but it sounds like they're also getting fakes from other sources), but i've not heard one person claim to have gotten fakes from SDS or AR. in fact, 2 or 3 pages back a dude said this:

stop trying to lump AR and SDS in with other fake sellers. at this point it's completely unfair.

people puttin jay on blast via his twitter site in regards to the space jam restock. i gotta agree it is a bit fishy, but like holiday said i am not going to sweat it.

As someone with experience in the footwear industry and knowledge of how the sourcing/ manufacturing process works in these factories, to think they are just making 100 or 200 pairs here or there is not feasible and makes zero sense.

The cost per pair would be extremely high to to that limited amount of a run, if they were still producing them there would be floods of thousands of pairs, not just restocks of 50 or 60 pairs here or there....

When factories produce something like the concords or whatever GR jordan for a main run they are producing upwards of 250k plus pairs in mens sizes. I saw a 30k figure floating around here before which would not even be enough for a major chain to order, let alone as a total production run.

My best guess as to why the space jams are still appearing is that the factory people who store the grey market shoes sell them in small amounts to keep the price they get for them as high as possible. If AR and SDS are buying a few k pairs apiece they are going to get a better price per pair then if they just buy 50-100 units leaked out slowly over time.

But there is still a shroud of mystery that no one knows about, all I know 100% for sure from multiple sources over the years about these grey market shoes is this, which is basically the same stuff said in that article a few pages back:
They are produced in the same factories contracted by Nike at the same time of the production run of the pairs ordered by Nike, with the same materials on the same production lines ( you cant just magically produce a model not currently in production, the lines of all the applicable machinery and workers trained for that model need to be up and running, example: one of these factories cant just start cranking out say AJ8 Aquas right now, the production line is not set up and obviously the materials have not been sourced , if that could happen than Concords would have been produced in perpetuity since it is the most in demand AJ in the US market, they only hit hte grey market when they actually went in production, it must be a model that is actually coming out and has a major order in by Nike, which means the factories have sourced the necessary materials)

Shady characters/organized crime are involved in securing the overrun extra pairs and selling them to people like AR, Marquee, SDS etc.... they all get their shoes from the same source at roughly the same time....whoever pays a premium gets it first

As to the rest of the exact details, we'll probably never know, I could be wrong about the Space Jams, if they have extra soles and black uppers already laying around the factory it is possible they are being produced on the concord production line as the patent panels and midsoles have already been sourced, all they need are the black uppers, laces and soles to change it so space jams, so that is a small possibility but I doubt it. But then again, like I said who knows?

this is the most informative post i've read on this grey market topic.

to me personally, it further confirms my whole argument earlier that dude didn't understand what overruns are and that the stock AR and SDS get are not just a bunch of defective pairs, but mostly A-grade overrun pairs (extra pairs made to compensate for defective pairs, both are write-off's for nike, a "write-off" means nike doesn't pay for them, and both are supposed to be destroyed).

that's not to say there won't be some flawed pairs found from these places, but i find UNMARKED B-grades (some should be C-grade) here in the US straight from nike, footlocker, etc. (remember the dude in the flint thread with the jumpman's head missing? LOL! and he got those straight from nike, not marked as B-grade, and there's countless other, much worse stories like this)...

a lot of these spots may get their stock of authentic J's from the same source, but it sounds like stores like VMV and sneakerape are also copping straight up FAKES from other sources and selling them.

so i'll steer clear of them for sure, but until i hear about AR or SDS selling a straight up fake pair of shoes, i'll consider this early release a hook up. authentic, but off the "back of the truck" (which we all know doesn't mean it's fake, i mean, if you rob a best buy truck of all it's contents b4 best buy puts it into distribution, does that mean all the products are fake all of the sudden cuz best buy never got to put their bar code sticker on it?)...

yeah, i'm skipping the space jam restock. i'm copping a more comfortable, higher quality 2000 pair, sea glowing it, and dyeing the sole blue many times over so it doesn't yellow (i'm also doing it to my cool greys and concords, even tho they already have a blue sole, i've been told if you re-dye them over and over it basically won't yellow)...
