clay travis been a moron since day one. I don't think anyone over at fs1 ever liked that fool. Now his agenda is to be a contrarion to whatever espn is doing and be some alt right commentator. Since brit mchenry got fired from espn she's been trying to be a fox news type conservative as well.

Report: Radio Host Craig Carton Arrested In Alleged $2M Fake Ticket Scam

Radio personality Craig Carton, who co-hosts the Boomer & Carton show on WFAN and CBS Sports Network, has been arrested as part of an alleged fake ticket scam that netted $2 million, NBC 4 New York reports.

Per the station’s Jonathan Dienst, FBI agents picked up the 48-year-old Carton at his Manhattan home earlier this morning. Dienst reports that Carton and another man are accused of defrauding investors in a discount ticket broker business that did not, in reality, exist.

Carton has hosted the show with former Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason since 2007; Boomer & Carton has been simulcast on television since 2010.

From S.I.:

Given that Carton appears to lack a criminal record, he would likely not be sentenced to anywhere near the maximum—45 years in prison if the sentences were run consecutively—if convicted on the three counts. Still, he would be looking at spending time in prison. The threat of a long prison sentence, and the prospect that other witnesses have already reached plea deals, could motivate Carton to weigh the possibility of cutting his own deal.

Along those lines, it remains to be seen how well Carton can formulate a defense. One factor on his side is that the government must prove each charge beyond a reasonable doubt. It will be a high burden. Carton might contend that he lacked the requisite intent to further a plot to defraud. He might also claim that he never possessed the necessary authority to authorize any questionable business dealings. These types of narratives may be able to weaken the government’s case.

In addition to criminal charges, Carton also faces a civil lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the U.S. District for the Southern District of New York. The SEC has sued Carton and seven other defendants for securities fraud.
