and we're done

give stat and kmart more minutes.
And we really need to pick up another decent guard that can shoot

And people thought Dantoni was bad with rotations... :lol

If Woodson doesn't give Amare starters minutes next game.. :lol

400

At least he can call a timeout :lol

If Woodson doesn't give Amare starters minutes next game.. :lol

Amare is on a minutes limit and shump came back from injury so those parts are at least somewhat understandable

I had boomer and carton in 60 on the backround just now and Amare didn't play more than the last half of the 4th quarter

so honestly everything we have been talking about yesterdays game kind of just flipped for me. :lol

I didn't know it was that much without him

that truly is the big story of the game againt the heat

I didn't get to see the game but I'm proud of Amare. It was time to show and prove and he did just that.

I'm skipping ahead but our #1 priority during the offseason should be a legit 3rd option. Probably don't have the cap space for that though.

This off season is going to be tricky. We might come to hate JR Smith even more. He has a player option and he's getting paid just under 3 million. I know he's going to want more money, especially after we signed Novak last summer for 4 years at 4 mill a year.

Do we let him go and try to find a 3rd option? Whose even on the market?

It's pretty dry in terms of higher level contributors. Only person that probably fits the description is O.J. Mayo...

I hope this forces stat to finally get into the starting lineup. Even when melo comes back, stat has to start

I would love Stat to start, but who's our option off the bench as far as scoring the way he can? JR is way too inconsistent that it's irritating to watch, Novak's 3s aren't falling like last year and that's as far as our scoring goes off the bench. James White is horrid and I would definitely replace him and put Stat in the starting lineup, but that does us more bad than good. What I would do is give Stat starter numbers. Doesn't have to start but basically play 35 mins or so if his knees can handle it.

And what's the deal with Chris Copeland? Is he injured, that's why he was in a suit? Dude has a nice jumper, he can really score. I'd replace him with White in a heartbeat. And what is Kenyon's purpose if he's going to just sit there? Get this guy in a game, because the defense is really slacking right now. There is no reason why Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Martin are barely getting minutes, granted they're all older men, but it wasn't a surprise when we had Rasheed and Camby out there in the rotation earlier this season the Knicks were looking like final contenders smh. That intensity ain't there and they need the veteran guys to promote that.

Some notes on the game:

-**** STATs minute limit. dude needs to be out there finishing every game.
-when Felton tries to be the hero we suck
-JR smith is a terrible 3pt shooter
-i'd go to war with Novak
-hope Melo is back soon
-Cope keeps dressing like he's going to a funeral
-Kmart please

dont think Melo's 'injury' is serious. dude walked off, so thats a good sign.
couldve been worse to be honest. didnt look like he did anything major, but thats how Shump and etc. tore theirs. if he did, he wouldnt have walked off, way too much pain to do that.

and finally after some 'flashes' of former Stat, he gets playing time. shouldve finished out the game yesterday smh.

and i agree with playing KMart. i would start him for the next few games (Detroit/OKC), since they all play big.
Ray, Shump, Melo, KMart, Tyson.

and Ray yet again pissed me off in the 4th. forcing passes like theres no tomorrow. SMH

good overall game, shows what we can accomplish when we actually commit to playing defense, and when JR doesnt chuck up 3s.

I tore my ACL twice and walked off the court both times. Everybody has their own tolerance of pain. Hope Melo is okay. It's a good sign that he didn't need any other test. Usually that means he'd need an MRI and that when you know it's bad.

As soon as I saw this I expected to see this gif in here

This is a great win for our team. To come back without Carmelo and down by 20+ I'm hoping this wakes them up and gives them confidence.

Amar'e been the man, this is nothing new.

Kidd hitting some 3s

That defense in the first half was just humiliating though. On to Detroit

Somebody look up the stat, we're probably like 10-0 when Kidd hits multiple 3s.

This STAT minute limit is nonsense. He had one when he came back, then for a few games it wasn't mentioned at all, then I think it was Friday I hear that it's back. He still needs to start even with that. Play him the first half of the 1st quarter then the second half of every quarter after that unless he's playing really well like tonight and we just exceed it. Imagine if this game went to OT and STAT got benched :x

The Knicks are 13-11 when Kidd hits two or more 3's this season.

They're 8-3 when he hits 3 or more

Couple things that have been driving me crazy lately have been the starting lineup and the slow starts and Novak's inability to knock down big 3s and how ineffective he is when he doesnt knock down the shots we need him to make.

I have been riding Novak all season long and have just about completely jumped off of the Novak bandwagon but I was talking to my boy the other day about both of these issues and he brought up to me an idea that I originally hated but after thinking about it more and him explaining it to me, I think it can be an ideal fix to both scenarios: Start Novak.

It might sound crazy but I cannot stand the 3 guard lineups we have been going with with Shump back from injury. Shumpert's greatest asset to this team is his ability to guard scoring 1s and 2s, but besides him still finding his step from injury why have opposing guards like Steph Curry, Jrue Holliday, and Kyrie just to name a couple been lighting us up on a nightly basis?

This is due to us starting 3 guards. We went into the Philly game when Jrue went off on us and a number of other games starting a backcourt of Felton, Kidd, and Shumpert. Sure ideally we want to have Iman Shumpert shadowing Jrue Holliday all game when he is the single threat Philadelphia would ever have to beat us but we take away Iman's greatest strength by starting him next to 2 guards. If we have Shump guarding Jrue during that game than we are forced to have Felton/Kidd guard Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young, 2 guys who are ridiculous mismatches for both of them. Because of this Shumpert is forced to guard one of the 2 bigger wing players and we were forced to watch Jrue Holliday make the likes of Felton, Kidd, and Prigioni look foolish on defense all night,

Same thing happened with steph Curry. We were murdering the Warriors earlier in that game and Iman had one of his best defensive quarters that game in the first quarter and Curry was a nonfactor. It wasnt until later he started schooling Felton on defense when we either had to sit Iman or have Felton guard him due to size mismatches. Starting Shumpert next to 2 guards severely limits his greatest ability and it cannot happen.

Next thing that has been haunting us is our slow starts. There is not enough offensive firepower to start these games when the only guy we have who is able to create his own shot is Melo and he is out there with James White while JR, Amare and Novak are all coming off the bench.

I like JR's 6th man role and I wouldnt want to change that and I see how Woodson likes Melo at the 4 this season considering hhow much of a mismatch he has been all season and I dont even mind Amare at the second unit right now however that leaves us with 1 scenario that I think can solve these problems right out the gate: start Novak in place of White.

First off this limits the chances of us having to watch the atrocious defense we see when STAT and Novak come out on the 2nd unit together and increases the chance that they will either be playing next to Tyson or Amare being brought out with the 2nd unit with the likes of Camby or KMart (once he starts getting minutes) an immediate improvement at one of our greatest weaknesses.

Second though, Steve Novak spreads the floor to start the game which I think can lead to many fast starts like we saw in the beginning of the season when we were knocking down 3 pointers. I think Novak being in the game from the opening tip will limit the jitters he has when he is forced on with the second unit and ball dominators like JR and Amare and he is pressured into hitting 3s. I think being in the starting lineup could provide benefits for Novak's jumper (especially playing with Melo) and I think we could see the effects throughout the entire game once he starts to develop a nice groove in the beginning of the game where every 3 he takes is not necessarily as important as it is when he comes in with the 2nd unit and we are playing catchup. He also would not be as much of a liability defensively next to Tyson and it allows us to exploit Shumpert for the lockdown peremeter defender we all know he is capable of being.

Anyway good win tonight, I was getting sick to my stomach during the 1st half and I know it was only the Cavs but i liked how we showed some heart and wouldnt lie down and take the L to them especially knowing the schedule we have coming up. Not the first time we have proven capable of doing that this season and I like that alot about this team.

Also great game for Amare way to put the team on his back offensively down the stretch. Him, Tyson, and Felton (along with Kidd and Novak refinding their strokes) looked VERY fluid offensively. And obviously Tyson finds a way to win the game by doing the little things that tend to fall under the radar. We see you out there grinding big homie!

Made some damn good points there. But when you think about it, we need to find the right group to build chemistry and hopefully see and beat the heat in the conference finals. Would you want Novak starting against the heat?

I want to hear woodsons reasoning behind his rotations and line up. I think Novak would get destroyed by Miami if we put him in to start.

Then catch our selves trying to dig out of that hole from early.

I honestly think the defensive liabilities are a problem on this squad.

Stoudemire I believed wasn't inserted against Miami because for every 2 points he scored he would have given up 4.

And I don't blame woody if that was his train of thought.

GR8 I hear your debate of starting Novak. But I wish Woodson would
He's a stubborn little fella

Woodson knows how to get the best out of players at times, he's a good general, and he protects his players.

But it's clear as day to why he got fired in Atlanta, he's just not a very bright individual.
