Any NTers losing interest in kicks like Jordan retros and the whole "sneaker culture"?

For me JBs/Nikes yes, that shipped has sailed. But as a whole, no because sneaker and streetwear culture is way bigger than a swoosh.

Never would lose interest in kicks.. But I have every pair that I know I actually want to wear so the only way ill purchase any more is if one that I currently have gets trashed.

This + the fact that the process of getting shoes now is so ridiculous, it made it that much easier to fall back

Yes. Been done with that. I still have fresh **** though.

I see cats on FB 30 years old finally getting a little money and getting into the weekly Jordan releases :lol :{ Good for that NKE stock though.

Grown men that wear J's daily, but don't know **** outside of J's, get judged.

This. 0 reason to purchase now

I havent posted in a minute but this brought me out of my Hole...Man the whole pay more than retail for a shoe for a bunch of dudes on the internet to like your pics or call you cool is super lame now..When i got into shoes It was for 2 things I love basketball...and I loves Bishes Period!

i fell off jordans over a couple years ago. last purchase were the playoff 11 mids. too much coin for shoes that barely see any daylight.

i do buy kicks from time to time still. a flyknit here and there for running or casual wear. despite nike not owning cole haan anymore, at the right price i will scoop up a pair of lunargrands for the office every now and then.

The kicks I buy now are mostly Adidas gazelles, SB Janoskis, Puma Suede Classics and Vans Sk8 His. Maybe a pair of Forces. None of them were bought from a reseller, none from a raffle, none were camped out for and most were bought under retail. I will never enter a raffle or camp out for the chance to give someone my money, **** is stupid as hell

Just started my professional career. Business casual 5 days a week. A few days in and my interest in sneakers has diminished significantly.

I've accepted that I'll never not like sneakers but I do go on spurts on where I will buy a ton and then spurts where i won't even have interest in them

And my dwindling interest in sneakers and my increasing interest in more important things in life are exactly why I mainly buy SBs. You can always catch them on sale

This will be my last year buying kicks. I'm calling it!

I've lost a great deal of interest in buying sneakers. I still do check out the Jordan and Nike Retro forums to see what retros are dropping and when, but I rarely go through the circus act of trying to acquire shoes. The main sneakers I try to buy are the OG AJ 1's because of the simple and classic look, but nowadays everybody and their great grandfather wants to wear the 1's, and this is a shoe I've loved since my childhood.

I have grown up a lot, and I still occasionally cop shoes I know I'll wear and put to good use, but it's a wasteful hobby. Also considering how materialistic and ******ed a lot of these dudes act in the Jordan forums, particularly the AJ 1 threads, it kinda allows me to fall back more from even considering the "culture" of sneakers, if there's one that even exists at this point...

I don't keep up with releases like I used too but I still have my favorites that I know I will buy but that's about it. It's impossible for me to not wear sneakers at all but its very easy to filter through the unnecessary.

i thought i'd be loyal to the swoosh and the jumpman for the rest of my life. i don't, by any means, feel old. However, at 29, my priorities have changed significantly. i've traded in sneakers for wing tips and oxfords. in addition to that, I've steadily sold off my collection in exchange for travel.

it's not that i'm above collecting shoes and i definitely respect those who still go hard in the shoe game. ****, i still drool over some flyknit and roshe run releases, but life philosophies and goals have taken a different meaning for me and I'm no longer searching madly through eBay, sole ********, and the Buy/Sell forum here for kicks. funny, just yesterday an AT&T rep came thru my house and saw what remained of my shoe collection and he was like "man, i used to be here but worse. Used to have 800 sneakers, but then I had kids and had to let that go." further put things into perspective for me.

Yeah I don't buy a lot of shoes anymore, and when I do they're never sneakers. I have like 2 pairs of Nike running shoes I wear, both in non-flashy colors .

Used to cop jays every other weekend then stopped once I got to college because other responsibilities came up

I think I noticed the new wave of sneakerheads when the LeBron 8 south beach released and then the 9s(big bangs, cannons, freegums etc.)

I knew a disaster was approaching because these shoes were NOWHERE to be found in nyc after their release dates :{

Yeah for the most part. I still purchase shoes like Space Jams and stuff like that. I'll always purchase kicks, but I won't go out of my way for them like waiting in line in person or the internet. I had a talk with my friend and the topic of "40 pair of shoes enough for an adult" and the fact we agreed showed i matured. I used to keep 200 pair of shoes between spots. A lot were random pumas or adidas i would pick up randomly, but I cut back on that. I wear a pair of guccis on a daily that seem comfortable. i've been spending money on designer kicks like balenciagas though.
40 pairs of shoes for an adult?

I have like 8.

LMAO @ this thread.

It's always a cycle. The last big migration off of kicks occurred in '08 I think.

I guess this or next year will be another one.
