the beats earbuds are trash. and i never got earbuds with my htc one. supposedly they came with the phone overseas though. i dont see them giving away beats earbuds with the iphone cuz that means they might as well shut down production on ipod earbuds. itd be a cannibalistic move

I like the earbuds that came with the M7.

I think they are unbranded Beats. They broke a couple weeks ago but I bought a replacement on eBay for like 10. Great earbuds for the price IMO. And they're the first earphones I've used with a button that works.

most likely because companies by default are making the buttons work only for apple devices. so u got a button tht works for android too...

Rumors popping up about why apple bought beats along with some new info. In a nutshell, apple wants to make beats headphones proprietary and the only headphones you can use on Apple products without an adapter.

Multi-hundred-dollar headphones that sound like $40 headphones and won't work with 99% of headphone sockets out there? It's simultaneously incredibly stupid yet entirely in line with Apple's design and marketing strategies. And if it happens, there will be tons of status-seeking fanboy morons ready to gobble it up.

On the plus side, Beats headphones are already a pretty effective "I'm an idiot" sign. Beats headphones with a Lightning connector will be like the same sign, only in neon.

better than what? better yet, what have u actually listened to for you to say that? beats dont have the best bass, nor the best clarity, not the best accuracy. not even from an audiophile standpoint (which im not) they just market the best. but in all honesty are built like crap and sound very run of the mill. theyre not even the best in their own class of mass-marketed headphones.

im like most of you, who want a headphone with GREAT design and great sound to match for a great price. i urge you, if you like the beats... at least try the other headphones it competes against. monster DNA pros, munitio pro 40s, sol republic master tracks, etc etc. but dont just believe something is the best because an athlete told you so...

correct and incorrect. munitio pro40s been in development since 06. long before beats caught on. HOWEVER! monster definitely tried to steal beats thunder by ending their production contract with them and bringing out their own headphones. The thing is, monster actually brought out the better product. but no matter what, beats marketing is KING. just like the apple iphone's marketing is KING. the iphone is not the creme of the crop in cellphone tech, HOWEVER, its definitely #1in sales and loyalty, and #1 in marketing.

so yes. marketing is what makes beats sell. most people say they want headphones and jump to beats. never heard em, didnt even try em on in a best buy, but they see em everywhere. cuz if they went to frys or best buy or tigerdirect etc...where theres a huge lineup of headphones to try...beats wouldnt have won the sound test. im only being honest. besides...im a marketing major lol. We did a huge case study on these type of things. Marketing is the difference.

No doubt man. I knew what I was buying. I bought a pair because frankly I think they sound good (the reason I didn't get the first gen), they are durable, comfortable, and they look nice. I had to pay a premium for the style and inevitable brand name, but I am happy with my purchase.

Upgrading to an sshd has been a pain in the ***.

Putting the sshd in the mac was simple.

Migrating my user account and restoring from time machine has been dreadful.

I've reinstalled osx to my mac 3 times and I've tried to restore from my backup 2 twice. 

I can't sign into my original account, but I can sign into an account that I created. 

The only bright side I guess is that my mac starts up in 45sec rather than 2min 32sec.
