I don't like how the white 5C has a black face, it should have a white face.

But they'll probably save that for the 5CS next year

What about what I said isn't true?  There are poor people, who, if not for cell phones would not be accessing the internet on a regular basis.

And not catering to people is where Apple has erred for a long while now. Their rationale is that people only use their phone as a stop-gap until they can use their tablet or computer at home.

But, a lot of people don't have money for other devices and do all their web-browsing, facebooking, etc. almost exclusively on their phone and want a bigger screen on what is essentially their only computing device.
It's funny that you say that, yet these supposedly poor people would be paying just as much if not more for an internet connection and a comp.

How are they too poor to afford comps w/ internet but they're able to buy a luxury phone w/ internet?

A comp with one of those internet cards would cost less than shelling out for the latest/greatest iphone w/ a 2yr contract.

The cheapest new iphone is almost $600. You can buy two cheap laptops with that. So your point about them not having enough for other devices is null.

Like I said before, a bigger screen just for the hell of it is pretty ridiculous.

I don't think your point about apple providing a bigger iphone screen is valid because they already offer ios devices that have bigger screens.

Those people have the choice of an ipad which costs signifiantly less than the iphone.

You should be able to quickly sell your 4s on amazon.

It's easy as hell to do.

If you need any help, just ask.

How? Would you make more than selling it on eBay?

After watching the keynote, the only thing that impressed me was the I sight camera. That being said, I will still wait for the 6. iOS 7 and a color change on my 5 will be good enough. As someone who went from an iPhone to android back to iPhone, the only thing I miss is the screen. Apple should at least make it 4.5 that's the only gripe I have besides the storage sizes

Can anyone who works for apple or knowledgable about apple customer service answer my question?

I went to the apple store a few days ago because i wanted to get my iphone 5 fixed (unlock button doesnt work literally 95% of the time. i have to just let the screen turn black on its own). The genius worker or whatever u call them told me that I can get a new iphone 5 because the phone is unfixable. So I made an appointment for the genius bar this upcoming friday to get a new iphone.

My question is - can I return the new iphone 5 I will get and in exchange + the difference $$, can I get the iphone 5s? So pretty much brand new iphone 5 + money for iphone 5s.

If not, then it's totally fine.

One of the best iphone 5 and maybe best iphone 5s case is the ibattz mojo refuel.

You get TWO REPLACEABLE batteries that can supposedly fully charge your iphone.

You can get the stylish version or the protection version.

It's about $100.

Here's a review:

You can pick on up on ibattz.com or amazon.com.

The bad: supposedly the case makes the buttons and headphone jack more recessed.

I have not seen any case that caters to so many different types of needs.

They're also releasing another case that it "lifeproof."

You can check that one out on their website: ibattz.com.

To me that's too much protection, but eh some people prefer it.

I still need to figure out of their iphone 5 cases will support the iphone 5s.

The iphone 5s has the same dimensions as the iphone 5, but the camera is a little different.

I would assume that the case would support the 5S, but ibattz still has to confirm that.

Listen. I'm not getting into flame war, but if you want to debate this, I'm willing to engage in rational debate.

My point, I believe, is valid.  The difference between a computer and a phone, and an ipad and a phone is simple and blatantly obvious.  So much so that I shouldn't even have to elaborate on it.  It is that, almost everyone sees the necessity of having a phone for communication, where not everyone sees the need for computers or expensive tablets at home.

The smart phone revolution took phones and integrated internet browsers and always on connectivity.  So people who otherwise, would not have ever sought those things out suddenly found that they just had them included in their cellular telephone.

And back to the financial reality of it.  I've already stated this.  Phones are rarely paid for in cash up front.  I would wager that less than 15% of the phones purchased in the US are done that way.  It's in an installment plan otherwise known as carrier subsidy that gets tacked on the monthly bill for 2-years, so people typically don't think about the true cost of the device.  If they did, then perhaps, yes, they might opt for the computer and internet connection, but they don't because that $600 is not coming out of their pocket at once.

So, back to bigger screens.  You have this person who suddenly finds out they enjoy browsing the internet due to the wonders of the smart phone.  They don't have a comp at home, and aren't gonna drop money on a separate device when they already have a phone.  But wait, it's time for them to upgrade their phone in a month.  They can get a new phone with a larger screen and better enjoy their browsing on their phone.  Why wouldn't they take more screen real estate?

Do you have an amazon account?

You'd most likely make more on amazon, but this all depends on the condition of the iphone.

Amazon's selling process is much better than ebay's.

Craiglist would be easier if you'd prefer that.

I would not walk around with that ibattz case man...I get it...I really do...but Jesus Christ.

Its triples the thickness of the iPhone lol

What does a 32G iPhone 4 go for? I see it going for $200 on CL but I don't think anyone is buying it and for some reason $150 sounds insane where I should just keep it as a backup or as an iPod touch.

No, I've had stuff like this happen. Get the replacement... it'll also be better if you choose to resell it because it'll be a brand new casing. Resell it to get the 5s then if you like. But the only way you'd be able to take it back to apple is with their new exchange program. I think the max for an iphone 5 is $265.

Edit: you'd be able to get the max tho because it'll be a practically new phone

NO

The iphone and the ipad use the same os, so this difference you illustrated is null. Anything that you can do on an ipad can most likely be done on an iphone.

Can you clean this up for me? I'm don't understand what you're trying to say.

I understand this and you've just illustrated that these people are short-sighted. In the long run, these people aren't really getting their phones for a "cheaper" price.

I don't think your argument is valid. An upgrade is $200 and an ipad mini is $329. It would be much more reasonable for them to cop to ipad mini which has way more screen real estate than hoping for a iphone with a bigger screen.

They wouldn't make more screen real estate because they already offer ios devices with bigger screens.

I think an iphone with a bigger screen is possible but I don't think apple with increase the screen size without taking into account portablity, weight, etc.

Lol I want to rock my iPhone with out a case so badlyyy.

I just know that one weekend I dont wear, Im gonna drop it and shatter everything.

That's just my luck

$150 is about right, its a pretty old phone now so its not insane. i sold mine for $100 shipped months back but my was pretty dinged up.

you wont get $200 unless you are very lucky

There are products on the market for these types of consumers. Apple has never really been a company catered towards making the least expensive all in one gadget. It has been the luxury computer/laptop/phone company. Some would even venture to call them "status symbols". As a result I don't think apple should make a phone for people who can't afford computers. If you honestly can't afford any sort of computer or access to a library you may not need an iPhone, because an iPhone is severely more expensive than even reasonably high priced laptops. You can get an 8 inch smartphone but I don't think most people want that to be their phone. The make it big as you can wave is old, then it was make it as small as you can... I like the direction apple is going with making it as light and efficient as you can while still serving normal purposes of accessing the internet on the go, taking pictures, etc. They aren't gonna make it the best camera in the world because some ppl get one because they can't afford a high caliber camera... It's a phone...

There are two versions.

An otterbox version

and a stylish version.

Well actually there's 3 versions.

Here's the "lifeproof" version:

You can do that, but just cop a warranty.

Which would cost $100.

Lol. iYen stop feeding the troll. At this point he's arguing just to argue after you backed him into a corner, disproving his "speculation"

Have you just gotten into apple? Have you seen their release schedule? There's no way in hell they up it to 8 month because then that would be the new standard which apple will not want to live upto. They are notorious for taking time to work out the bugs and even taking more time if needed.

Why do you think iPhones (even the 4 and 4s now on the pre eve week of a new model with a brand new iOS) hold their value so much? ......one reason is because they do not have different phones coming out every month or every other month...

Now back to your trolling...these poor people you speak too demanding a bigger screen and only having Internet access via a cell phone provider...where are these people at? Urban US cities. Developing countries. Middle of the country? That would play into your theory or disprove it more

Just admit what you truly think and feel. You want a bigger screen to watch porn, and have a hunch apple, a company with over $14B in cash reserves, needs to rush and go against their proven policy to claim a minor or minor lost %s of the mobile market. Keep in mind you have said this without any stats to back any of your hunches up..whats the market share between the cell companies. Show how much % apple has truly lost. Using the poor market to make your theory work is a joke though
