Apple's September 12 invite hints at iPhone 5. Upgrade to iOS 6 now.

I picked up mine up yesterday morning. The last black one.

Had the 3gs for 3 years and it was virtually indestructible. No cracked screen like all the 4's out there.

Ive always rocked my phone naked but for this one might have to pick up a case for it. Where are theyre any nice ones that doesnt cost 50 dollars?

If you already had an iPhone you probably got an early upgrade. My girl and I both had one at the beginning of the year and she got the 4s while I waited and we were both like 6 months from an upgrade. And you should check out your local radio shacks. A lot of people forgot about that place.

Does $230 meetup for a 32gb 4 sound fair? Phone is in perfect condition. I'm the one selling it btw.

Phone only, nothing else.

That's pretty fair. I sold my 16GB 4S for $320 and ordered the 5. I thought that was pretty good of a deal on both ends.

So I updated to iOS 6 today and when I received my first iMessage/text, an alert or notification popped up. As soon as it did, I accidentally pressed 1 of the 2 options (the left one) and it closed before I even got to read just one word.

Anyone know what it said and what I pressed? lol

That home button is stupid long.

But the beveled edge would have been nice for trying to pick the phone up off of tables.  The new thinner iphone is not as easy to pick up as the 4s with my grown man hands.

I feel like thats the next logical step in terms of design. Going to a wider, narrower home button allows the bottom border to become shorter, keeping the screen size the same but shortening the overall height of the phone. Tapering allows for different ports to fit. So imagine top to bottom taper, power button and audio jack up top (audio jack is the biggest port, thats minimum device thickness) and then you taper down to Lightning at the bottom which is incredibly thin.

I figured. Thanks man.
You get the most on eBay. I got $370 for my 16GB 4S on eBay.
Yea, but 32GB 4s are going for around  $300. After fees it's closer to $260.

Not too worried about the extra 30 I'd miss out on.

What kind of insurance are you guys rolling with? I currently have Verizon Total coverage but thinking about switching to AppleCare. Any good or bad experiences with AppleCare?

As somebody who REALLY takes care of their phone, I can honestly say that the highly-machine beveled edge running around the screen is a freaking scratch magnet.

I mean...I don't even sit my phone down like a regular person...I straight up slowly let it down on to the surface...and its never directly on a table or nightstand, always on top of a notebook or soft surface like carpet...

and already, this edge has scratch marks.  This case i ordered can not come quickly enough.

Apple care sounds cool but it sounds like a lot of cats are catching cool store reps who don't care.

The thing I will give TEC is as long as you don't drop it you can have a phone you found in a drawer and if TEC is on your account you can have it replaced wether its via warranty or insurance, lot of people trip about the deductible you pay but it's better than nothing.

My only gripe with apple on this release is nobody having chargers or lightning data cables, because if you lose your charger you're screwed.

Damn....is it that serious? It's a phone. You sound like you belong in that new Samsung commercial.

I understand that I won't have any phone for longer than 18 months, so I resolve to keep them looking as close-to-new as possible for when it is time to unload it on ebay.

What's unreasonable about that?

:lol at people who dump $50+ into cases for their phones in the name of "resale value"

:lol This. Or dudes that talk about how sexy or nice the phone is then proceed to throw a case on it. If your gonna throw a case on the thing who the hell cares what material the phone is made of if your gonna cover it with a plastic case.

My case has saved my 4S a few times. Plus I always buy holster and case combos from Seidio.

My brother used to rock his phone naked until he cracked his screen twice costing him $200 in insurance deductibles. A case is definitely worth it.
